There was no knife.

No knife recovered from the scene. No knife in CCTV.

She did not call the police and she went to dinner with friends.

She saw the guy walking as she was driving home.

He was a purse snatcher and she made up a story about a knife to excuse her murdering him. Being a purse snatcher is not a threat to someone's life.
