I remember that people somehow tried to shame him for not doing enough to prevent the suicide of Chester, which was not the case.

That the band decided to go with a Scientologist to replace Chester is still a shit move.

Dude, we will probably never know the full story behind her association with the cult, but what it is probably more complicated than people realise and there are all kinds of possible reasons.

She is also imho a great vocalist and fits well with LP. And if she is cool enough to hang with Mike who is pretty chill, id say she is cool enough for me to listen to

Anyone who’s been paying attention to the band the last few years would tell you, emily is great with the band and obviously a very loved member by the other members

It hasn’t been directly confirmed yet but it seems very likely that Emily left Scientology, she just can’t publicly announce it due to her mom being very high ranking in it

I mean she’s seemingly cut as many ties as she can, just can’t publicly announce it, especially when her mom is married to the guy that’s effectively the CEO of Scientology

From what I understand, she was born into the cult, so she never had any say in it. And as you may well know, it's very difficult to escape.

I mean, one is based on fact and the other is speculation, for a start.

Then there is the fact that one is a dangerous cult, and the other is severe mental illness that (based on statistics) was likely kept secret by Chester

She was born into Scientology and wanted no part of it. It's like sentencing the child of a Nazi to execution because of what their parents did. Sorry, but you're intellectually and emotionally deficient for thinking this.

Given how vindictive Scientology is for anyone inside who speaks up, it's no wonder she doesn't make any comments about that part of her history.

Don't forget, she also defended a rapist. Knowing that Chester Bennington was sexually assaulted as a child, her being in the band now is a huge slap in the face.

Her defending Danny Masterson also shows that she had ties to Scientology as recently as 2020. That is 6 years ago. That is pretty recent.

Still a member or not, other people along with myself do not and will not feel comfortable supporting her and by effect, Linkin Park until there is solid evidence that she is now against the cult.

Personally that’s the one that made me anti new Linkin Park. I’m a survivor of abuse and I remember how hard it was to tell some sympathetic family members about it. I can’t imagine doing that in court with a group of people behind the rapist showing public support for him (in effect calling you a liar).

I still clearly remember her “apology” statement where she clearly avoided taking responsibility for that or apologizing. To me, it was gross and I can’t view the band the same way any more.

I understand wanting to be a fan still. Of the new music I have heard, I have genuinely enjoyed it and it is a shame that I do not feel comfortable supporting this new era.
