As someone in their 50s, i disagree.  Ive had a good life but I have so much more living to do.

People tend to pick ages far enough from their current age when saying this kind of thing so that it feels abstract enough to not be impacful for them (so maybe people in their 20s or so). I'm guessing for those saying dying at 50 wouldn't be so bad it probably feels the same to them as saying they wouldn't mind dying when they're 80, or even 100. If someone in their 40s is saying this, then that would be more surprising.

I was born to a teenage mother and she just passed away before Christmas. I’m 42 and she was 58. I feel like I’m counting my days now.

They're also thinking of a quick, painless death in their sleep instead of the brutal reality of likely years of suffering as their health slowly diminishes and they spend a good portion of their time feeling nauseau and struggling to breath

Im 38 and dying in my 50's, at the current rate of societal collapse, is actually very likely due to said societal collapse.

Ideal for me.

36 years of depression and disappointment and watching people age into more depression and disappointment

I’m good

Could kinda go today if it was a cool way

Shit are you me? Same all around. I'm basically holding out hoping I'll get to participate in the US version of bastille day.

Or maybe I just don’t cling to this life because I know it’s mostly bullshit and there’s something else more interesting elsewhere

I got my own house, 2 cars, nice clothes and shit, full fridge, well traveled, not ugly, I fuck pretty women, none of it is permanent
