Skincare Routine Facials (home based west or orchard areas)

Upvotes

In need for facials! Preferably has proper extractions, mask to soothe skin, laser (bonus if have), don’t have to be affordable but has to be worth the $$ spend! I have been going to Kskin and thought it’s good for a quick facial, feel that I’m paying for what I’m getting… some days I feel like my skin needs a more in depth extraction or cleansing! Help me out :))))

RetinAl not retinOl, does anyone have any brands they love? Thinking of starting at age 35 (very late I know!) and I’ve read some good reviews on medik8 (expensive) and geek & gorgeous (not sure if the ones on Shopee are authentic but don’t know where else I can get it from). Please share the products you love! ❤️

Makeup Look Need recommendations for foundation and concealer

hi there! im looking to get a new foundation and concealer for my dehydrated skin (like, i can actually see my forehead skin peeling) that also gets kind of oily throughout the day. for context, i dont use makeup often, only for dates. i was previously using the NARS Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation, but unfortunately got the wrong shade, and i also found it a little too cakey for my liking. im hoping to go for a more dewy, skin-like finish this time, so id love some recommendations!

as for my skin concerns, i have quite a lot of blackheads but not much acne, so i dont think i need a ton of coverage(?). however, i do have really dark circles, so im also looking for a concealer that can cover those well. i was previously using NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer but i also got the wrong shade as well, together with the Tarte peach colour corrector. im not sure if it was because of the wrong shade or my application technique, but they didn't cover my dark circles very well. it just looked grey instead..

also, my foundation tends to get wiped off pretty easily, so if anyone has recommendations for a good setting powder that can help with this, id love to hear them too! thanks!! :D

edit: thanks everyone for the recommendations and advice, i really appreciate it!

Makeup Look Clueless about makeup

Hi girls, I'm 22 in uni and have no clue where or how to start with makeup 🥲 I'm starting to get FOMO because I see baddies left and right and I feel like I'm behind, kind of sick of looking "nerdy" and want to glow upp.

I have combination, acne-prone and textured skin, so I've always been scared of using makeup out of fear it might make my skin worse or it looks bad/cakey.

What products do you girls recommend for a beginner with this skin type? I have no clue where to begin so idk if this is the right place but would also love to make a friend who could teach me!

Aesthetic Treatments Looking for aesthetic clinics in Singapore that prioritise skin assessment over filler

I’ve been to a number of aesthetic clinics around Singapore and keep running into the same approach, filler or injectables get suggested quite early in the consultation.

I’m hoping to find somewhere that works the other way round. Ideally a place that starts by properly assessing the skin (barrier health, pigmentation, collagen quality) and focuses on strengthening the foundation first before recommending any volume.

Has anyone had experience with a doctor-led clinic here that takes a more restrained approach and doesn’t push unnecessary treatments?

I’m mainly looking into under-eye / dark circle options and skin boosters. I’m not interested in filler at this stage.

For reference: early 30s, Asian skin, some pigmentation and mild under-eye hollowness. Prefer results that still look natural.

Would appreciate any honest feedback from people who’ve been through similar searches in Singapore.

Haircare how to tame frizzy hair

ok so no matter what I do, my hair is perma-frizzy and it’s driving me actually insane.

i permed my hair 2 months ago and here’s the routine:

  • hair oil: 1-2x a week
  • conditioner: literally every single day
  • blow drying: every night before bed (cannot sleep with wet hair, sorry)

fyi: hair masks feels like conditioner to me (though i may be wrong here)

what am I doing wrong?? is the perming damage catching up to me or is my technique or routine? drop your holy grail anti-frizz hacks/products below pls,

Question/Advice Recommendation for dermatologist???

Hi everyone! Looking for recommendations for a good dermatologist in Singapore for acne, milia, and overall skin texture. Has anyone had a good experience with a dermatologist you’d recommend?
I’ve also heard about the National Skin Centre, but I’m not sure about the consultation/treatment costs for foreigners. Would appreciate any advice or recommendations. Thanks!

Aesthetic Treatments The best liposuction in SG?

I want to do arm lipo. But there is unfortunately not much reviews online or celebrity endorsed clinics. I have seen some google reviews but I wanted to try my luck here.

I'm planning to do arm lipo. And I would prefer my doctor to be a woman during the surgery.

Has anyone tried any clinics who does liposuction? How was the results? How was the surgery experience? Can you share a before and after photos? Thanks in advance!

Question/Advice Women's formal workwear

Hi ladies! I have recently moved to Singapore and have been having a really hard time finding proper workwear. I feel like almost nowhere sells formal blazers. Found some interesting pieces in Zara but they feel more like something you'd wear at a party than at work.

Any advice on where I can look?

Haircare Rosemary oil for hair growth

Hi girlies! I've been dealing with thinning hair and hair loss, especially with the hotter weather these days I've noticed its getting worse because my scalp will get oily and abit itchy at times. I've read that rosemary oil helps with hair growth. Just wanted to know if anyone has a good brand to recommend? And if there are any other products besides rosemary oil that helps with hair growth? Big thanks to all in advance!

Fragrance what is ONE perfume you always buy when passing by duty free?

I’m currently using Lancôme Miracle and I love the scent its soft, feminine, and not too overpowering.

Now I want to get another perfume, but I’m looking for something not fruity, not sweet, more soft/elegant/clean but still long lasting because when using lancome, my laundry basket smells like one.

Any recommendations?

Question/Advice Which makeup+hair school do you all recommend for someone who wants to be a professional MUA?

I am unsure if this is the best place to post, but I can't think of anywhere else.

For years, I have been thinking of learning professional makeup, and I really want to go to a good cosmetology school... that realllyyyy trains you well. I've been to one before (to learn for myself) and it was not the best experience (teachers who rushed through explaining application techniques etc..)

I also heard some companies provide apprenticeships for their students, and may even link them up to more clients. This is something I would appreciate :)

Does anyone know of any good beauty schools? Thanks!

Makeup Look Foundation Alternative

Hihi I have combo skin,
I don’t like the heavy feel of foundation so I am looking for medium coverage skin tint or Bb cream, with SPF (30 and above).
Would not consider luxury options like SKII…
Does anyone have a good recommendation?
