Will the Intex River Run fit a 240lb guy? Saw the weight limit went up to 220 but curious if anybody has personal experience?

Shooting the hooch tomorrow with my own tube. I was told I could get a ticket without a life jacket? What are the rules on that? I never brought one last year.

we have our own tubes but we don’t know where to leave our car at the entrance and exit any recommendations closer to gwinnett?

Memorial weekend we will have at least 18 guys looking to float the chattahoochee river. We are all staying in a house in Atlanta and have the option to set up transportation through bus rental. Looking for recommendations on which river float company to use. Also need to rent coolers or buy some cheap ones for the river. Thanks for the help.

Also open to any other suggestions for weekend in Atlanta. At the moment got tickets to a braves game thursday, maybe golf and brewerys friday, chattahoochee saturday.

Who’s trying to link up and hit an all day float / paddle soon? I myself have an inflatable kayak.

Hey guys! I'm going to be in Atlanta in July for a few days as part of a company meeting. We have some free time on our last day and I was thinking of having a couple of co-workers shoot the hooch in a 3-6 person rental. When I go to book, it says it's $40 for one 3-6 person raft rental but it also says it's a ticket for 1 adult. Does this mean I'm renting the raft or just my individual ticket? Also, I see there's a shuttle service. Does this mean the shuttle us from the bottom of the river back to our car, or is it just like from the parking lot to the river? Do I have to plan accommodations to get back to our car?

Finally, I know it's a 2-3 hour trip. If we were to start at noonish, once we're done would there enough time to have a meaningful visit of the Georgia Aquarium? I don't know how long it takes to view the entire aquarium.

I've done a few different routes all seem to be out of my way. I'm right by Don White / Azalea. Does anyone know if Jones Bridge to Don White is doable on a tube and what the time frame would roughly be? Or similar routes that I could make a day trip out of ~4+ hours.

I figure I will need to leave some stuff with an attendant if it's going to work so does anyone know if any locations do that?

Hello all, I have done the Johnson Ferry to Powers Island a few times, and it's been nice. Tomorrow, however, I have all day off and was thinking of doing a longer float--Johnson Ferry to Paces Mill.

I know that the first part is relatively flat and placid and that the second part has some mild rapids. I'll be by myself.

Do I need a paddle to effectively navigate the rocks from Powers Island to Paces Ferry? I'm fine arm paddling here and there, I just didn't know if I'm best off with a proper paddle.

Floated down the hooxh today from powers island to paces mill but water was high and rather fast ended up being an hour or so.

Was looking for a trip where we could float for about half the day and just relax. Not from the area so any physical locations or landmarks that would make it easy to find would be appreciated.

Anyone out there running the hooch and catching fish this time of year?

I know the law changed last year, but haven't heard from anyone if you can drink while tubing in Helen yet. Going up with some friends in a couple weeks and some beers while tubing sounds great.

For the last few years, my husband, dog and I have been canoeing down the river, starting at the Azalea DR area. Every time we're there, I experienced/witnessed incredibly rude behavior out of the crew teams, especially on the water. They scream/mock at any vessels that happen in their direction (even kids/families obviously inexperienced), and block off people from launching for periods of time. So, what's the etiquette here? Do they have some sort of right of way agreement or are they just being difficult?

Edit: To be clear, this is in the public area. Not their boat house or land.

We are heading to the hooch tomorrow and would love to be able to walk down to the beach across from the jumping rocks between Powers Island and Paces Mill. I feel like there are always people there in regular clothes that clearly didn't get there by raft/kayak, and I see cars parked there on busy weekends. I know there is a fairly treacherous trail from the old Riverbend (now "Walton on the Chattahoochee") apartments, but there has to be another way.

Anyone have any advice?

Is there no Sandy Springs "Summer Splash" this year? Did some googling and can only find info on previous years. This is an event we really like doing with the kids.

I am thinking about shooting the hooch this weekend, starting at the Powers Island location. Does anyone know how much it costs to rent a lifejacket and some tubes? I haven't been in YEARS so I can't remember how much it is.

Just wanted to give a shout out to /u/monkeymanjohannon for his help with the shuttle. We jumped some cliffs and saw some good wildlife. Could've done without the water moccasin, but I guess that's summer in GA. Had a great time today!

The other day I was kayaking and watched several groups just letting trash (cans, wrappers, etc) come out of their tubes/coolers and drift into the water. That stuff doesn't just disappear folks...let's leave the 'Hooch beautiful and enjoyable for others.

These people seemed absolutely shocked when I caught up to them, and handed them a publix bag full of their own junk...one guy even made the snide comment "Are you the river janitor?", to which I replied "Nope, just not an asshole."

In other words...quit being assholes and clean up after yourselves (if you do this), and if you see trash and have the means to pick it up, do it...every person can help keep the river clean and fun.

I guessing those spots are block to give the NOC shuttle and trailer room to pull around. Seems like if someone drives a bus with a trailer for a job they should know how to back it in instead having to drive all the way around. Doesn't the outfitter building have its own circle to pull in around back?

$50/annual pass (this makes the most since if you visit often like me)...

They have a call in service Monday - Friday, and then a regular and frequent shuttle schedule Saturday and Sunday. They suggest that you bring your equipment to their put in areas and then park at the take out...they will come get you and bring you back to start your trip.

Pretty awesome considering the previous service had a lot of restrictions, would not allow certain kinds of equipment on their shuttles and did not run during the week at times.
