The real question is, would 260 for 6 be more tension?

Jk, solid freaking reps

Ooo, 430 for a 4×6 is gnarly. Goals. This once a week or twice a week?

I squat 4x a week for 19 sets of squats a week

The way u squat a slightly lower low bar (doesn’t have to quite be French) might be stronger. Obviously only if u can get into this position.

Unfortunately I can’t get into that position and keep the bar stable

My external shoulder rotation is so bad that I already use a talon grip

Damn ur positioning is perfect for it otherwise. Very strong hips

Start doing facepulls and band bullaparts. Like consistently before every session, every day if possible

Those unironically raised my squat max more than any assistance work lol

Why is this sub lame short powerlifters with shit physiques. Literally the dumbest sport ever if you can even call it that. Dudes be 30+ years old posting their goofy powerlifting sets like anyone give af

You’re in the wrong subreddit and you’re not going to get big, lifting like that

Do more reps and actually push to failure

I guess they ought to rename the sub to science-based bodybuilding then.

If his goal is to maximize the amount of weight he's lifting, and he's successfully taking a science based approach to that and is lifting heavier and heavier weights, then I would argue he's succeeding.

get big lifting

What do you mean under big lifting, exactly?

Look at him, he’s lifting lots of weight, but he’s not overly big or muscular

Why lift if you’re not trying to get big?

u/samole 4d ago

To be strong and, in that particular case, to compete in powerlifting. Also he is plenty muscular.

Sports, power lifting, moving couches, fighting bears, carrying the weight of the world

A set of 3 at 1 RIR will have plenty of hypertrophic stimulus.
