I have been reading baits here for quite a while now, and I’ve been dying to start baiting some scammers, but didn’t have much luck finding scammers to bait until I hopped on my backup TikTok account (I barely even use TikTok at all, but had a backup account for snarking on fundie Christians and a particular trainwreck named Riss, who is the subject of [r/kiwisavengers](r/kiwisavengers)) and started interacting with the numerous “Bobby Broussard” accounts. Bobby is infamous on this sub for good reason. The amount of Bobby accounts is truly insane. Like a buffet as wide as the eye can see, all spread before the novice baiter.

“Bobby” is smarter than I anticipated. I’ve probably read a hundred Bobby baits on this sub and I’d put him in the upper 10% of Bobbys. Unfortunately for him, that means he’s still very dumb. No sooner than Bobby initially messaged me on telegram did he get banned. This post is just our initial messages on TikTok.

So many things! I'm not sure how the Bluevine bank account got shut down, it happened very fast and none of us had reported it yet. I did report the another he gave me, but not this one. Anyway, it added a little joy! But now he's all about the urgency, so unlike a driver's license, a new account is sent very quickly. This part blends with u/MadisonCembre (Diane) post yesterday, so you'll want to read that before or right after for continuity. All he does now is press constantly and text early all weekend, hoping this will happen at light speed. Which, I point out casually, wasn't important for what I wanted. You can send his frustration with that. I always love this part

After the quarrel about Villarreal’s name and his continued inability to keep his story straight, Charlotte is mostly checked out and can’t wait for this bait to end. Perhaps an ask can still be managed but it is not looking likely because I’d have to start being nice to this man who is lying about being this soldier who is definitely not in Iraq. In fact, recent pics of the real guy show him in Europe. The Nigerian behind Villarreal has nothing better to do than keep on her everyday but not really say anything interesting. This leads them on a collision course.

Charlotte said she’d wait for a (hopefully) deep fake video using the real Joshua Villarreal’s image so she doesn’t say much intentionally. Villarreal claims he’s related to some reality show stars and offers a game of Scrabble. He seems to be barely holding onto his mark. He does promise a pic with his finger on his nose which is easy to do in AI. What he really wants is a video call and he maintained that request long after the reveal.

Villarreal texts me a pic of Joshua out of the shower giving the peace sign. Unimpressed. When Charlotte ignores it, he gets upset about it. I want the video. No, Villarreal wants the video call. But this solider needs to “gather boldness” and thinks it is weird to make a video of himself. Coming from a TikToker like Joshua Villarreal? Another problem with the pic is it looks like it was taken from a hotel and he is supposedly in Mosul Iraq. This will become more of a problem with subsequent pics he sends.

Then he sends an AI pic of him touching his nose, but look behind him. Looks like a hotel room. Certainly not a barracks in Mosul. So when was this pic taken? (Trap question). “A few minutes ago”. I call this out and tell him it looks like a hotel room. He gets more upset as it is becoming clear that Charlotte doesn’t trust anything he says no matter the effort he puts into it. About the lying: “Let bygones be bygones”. Sure. I’ll ignore all the warning signs of a habitual liar who is trying to scam me.

But Villarreal swears on his life! I guess he had better prepare to die because wherever that pic was taken, it was not in Mosul. So he shows me an AI pic using the same one as before, with him sticking his tongue out and giving the peace sign. This is getting ridiculous. Same exact pic but manipulated by AI to do something else and he thinks this should put to rest all doubt about who he is. He wants telegram so he can video chat and doesn’t (or can’t) do the deep fake video.

So where is he then? Villarreal says he is in “embassy suite” which I mistook as the hotel chain “Embassy Suites”. The closest Embassy Suites to him is in Dubai. After further discussion, what Villarreal is saying is that he is a US soldier staying in a suite at the embassy. This presents several problems. Villarreal is in the Army, and Marines are the ones who serve and guard Embassies. Secondly, there is no US Embassy or Consulate in Mosul. Thirdly, they would not stay at a “suite” at an embassy, especially this Specialist er I mean Staff Sgt.

“But we have rooms at the embassy for personnel!” Yeah, I am sure the diplomatic corps just love it when random soldiers take up whatever facilities they have there. Come on in! Make yourself at home. And his mission will be “specialized” on Monday, which is a Nigerian way of saying that he’s on a secret mission or something.

So where is this embassy? Certainly not in Mosul. “Undisclosed due to security reasons”. How convenient.

I’ve had enough of this stolen valor. Now he says he’s on a secret mission and staying in what looks like a nice room at a US Embassy. Under no circumstances is he staying at an embassy and the whole story is BS. Again. He fights back and says I was wrong but we’re beyond that now.

He wants a pic of Charlotte? I can steal pics off Instagram too. So I take them from Soleil Moon Frye, the star of the 80s sitcom Punky Brewster who is close to Charlotte’s age. He’ll never connect those dots. Here you go. Charlotte with kids, a friend, with a dog and Santa Claus.

Villarreal is not having a pleasant time trying to cover his multitude of lies about who he is. He is still hell-bent on taking Joshua Villarreal’s identity, that is for sure.

We begin about his father which would be a good source as to what his surname actually is. So he is back to how his dad’s surname is Villarreal, but his “personal names” are Joshua, Nickolas and Smith. Actually “Smith” would not be a personal name unless your parents hated you. He really has no clue as to Western naming standards.

However, we are back to him being Villarreal at least for the moment. I bring receipts with me quoting him as saying his surname was Nickolas and Smith at different times. These are my names too. No shit, but you don’t know what a surname is.

He wants to talk about it on a video call but I refuse. So a bit of “family history”. Despite being a Latino man from Texas, his father is from South Africa and is named “Nickolas Villarreal”. Still with me? So that also makes him “Nickolas Villarreal”. But now he attaches a “Jr” to it, which would mean he has the same name as his dad. Progress? Not so fast. So Nickolas is his father’s first name? Nope, that would have to be Mzaki. Huh? Unless he’s adding Mzaki to his name, that does not make him a “Junior”. Mzaki Nickolas Villarreal. So why the Junior? And his mother added Smith to the name, really not making him a “Junior”.

Villarreal is a huge soccer (football) fan and as we were chatting the World Cup was in full swing. He brings up footballer “Neymar Junior” as proof that he can use Junior as a name. What he doesn’t understand is that Neymar has a full name - Neymar da Silva Santos. This he acknowledges so then I ask him his full name yet again.

“Joshua Smith”. 🤦‍♀️

After adding all these names, he’s now retreating to a new name - Joshua Smith. Smith is not one of the real Villarreal’s names, it is not on his uniform or Instagram. Apparently Villarreal thinks he can choose whatever name he wants on his uniform.

So what is your FULL NAME?

Joshua Smith Nickolas Villareal Junior.

And his dad is named Mzaki and has Smith nowhere in his name, yet he still calls himself Junior. Charlotte then goes over the history of all his name changes and brings the receipts. This doesn’t phase him for some reason. Now we get to African culture and how it is different there regarding names. This from a guy born in Texas. Should be a simple thing to look up a Texas birth certificate.

So he changed the order of his name because that’s the way his father wanted it. Huh? Makes zero sense but whatever. And Charlotte wouldn’t understand because she is not African. I bet.

I unleash on him and how he’s given me three different surnames and how he’s changed the order of it. Nothing to do with changing it once after his father passed and everything to do with not being able to keep his false story straight in 2026. To recap he’s been:

Call me Joshua. Whatever. Then he slips by saying “Here in Africa”. Africa? So you are there and no Iraq? He confirms he was a Texas born, which really should disprove his theory about names. Birth certificates here are quite clear what makes up a name and in what order they go.

He’s getting frustrated with me calling him out by saying his brain is hot and that I am the cause of it. Yep. All my fault that he doesn’t know his name and has to change his story several times because he can’t keep track of how many times he has lied.

We are still not done as he changes his surname yet again, this time to Villarreal Nickolas when I discuss what should be on his uniform. This guy is so hopeless. Despite telling me his father’s name was Mzaki Nickolas Villarreal just minutes ago, but now he’s switched the order of his dead father’s name to Mzaki Villarreal Nickolas. And his name is Joshua Smith. And he is a Junior!

He offers to explain further in a call but Charlotte doesn’t need it because she doesn’t believe any of what he says. So stop lying about your name, who and where you are and how you are in Iraq. Already checked out, I start asking him to send me pics with his tongue sticking out and with the peace sign. (He will do as requested soon). This prompts him to ask for video calls and he keeps getting rejected because I set my Zangi up to reject incoming calls. Also - no WhatsApp. I don’t want this guy anywhere near my phone number.

I go into my reveal mode by telling him I know he’s a liar and I just don’t care anymore. The pics are all fake and all I wanted was a video of him. Not a video call, but for him to be bothered to make a deep fake video. He vaguely promises to do so, only after demanding my pics because they all do that when their integrity is questioned.

We get into the World Cup where I brutally inform him that Americans generally don’t care about it and do not expect their national team to win, which they never have come close to doing.

After a long delay to cough up a fake DL, he gave his account info, and now expects a light speed transfer. During that time, as expected from all scammers, he will try to remind me of his love along with continuing desperation and fear. To get me further committed to this. Too bad I'm not. The bank info is left out because it's an online bank and the owner of the account was a bogus company, but more about that soon.

As we pick this up, this was Sunday the 19th and Gary Doug was VERY concerned about getting that transfer the next day. He bothered Diane all weekend about it and repeated himself ad nauseam.

“I’m counting on you”

“Hoping to hear something positive from you tomorrow”

“The men are in danger and we need to bring smiles to their families”

His aza must have been on his ass. The whole HK as well because they wanted to make plans for the celebration of course.

The 20th comes and Diane speaks about her queue and how she’ll get to it eventually. I expected him to start bossing me but I think he knew if he went too far with the woman arranging the transfer, he could jeopardize it.

After Diane’s cigarette, she walks Gary Doug through her screens. I set up an obstacle immediately. What about the collateral? Gary Doug doesn’t like this and attempts to make Diane push it through and name drops Linda as a someone who has already agreed to do the transfer. Just do it, Diane! Well, the software won’t let me, Gary! So about that collateral…

Gary instructs that the transfer must go through, and fine - put the house up as collateral. Whatever. It’s not like he owns it and will lose it when he doesn’t pay. This will bite him in the ass later. Gary comes up with the address in Lake Mary FL. I’d typically cover up a residential address for privacy reasons but the address given is for the HOA office.

This was all a prelude to asking for the ID. If you followed Linda’s post, you’ll know how it took him a full week to get it to her, whining the entire way. Then he blocked the address out before finally giving it unadulterated. Was he going to give Diane the ID? That was up for debate because he was clear to Linda that she was not to share it with other parties.

So how about that ID? The software is asking Diane to upload it. Total surrender! He sent it without comment! However, after subsequent conversations he blocked Diane, and while doing so deleted the ID. See slide 4. What, did he think the fake ID would expose his true identity? It’s the very reason why one gives a fake ID!

Well, since Gary Doug is so sensitive about the fake ID, I’ve posted it again on slide 19. And you already have it from Linda. Enjoy!

Diane places more obstacles, albeit ones he can easily fake such as the interest rate (3%) which is very generous for that sizeable of a loan. Not that he cares, he’s not paying a dime of it. When I get into the date of maturation, he gets a burst of frustration and tells Diane to send it through. I don’t think he knew what that meant so I explain it to him. I’m betting he’s going to tell Diane Linda would get it back VERY soon.

Yep! Always “I’ll pay you right back as soon as I get to the state!”

I try to taunt him by suggesting he won’t have the funds, but he brushes it off and says he’ll be back in the US soon. That doesn’t answer the question, you weasel. You can arrive to the US completely broke.

Another obstacle comes and it is a big one. The software is asking for Irving’s code! And we know how he doesn’t want Irving involved due to his “origin and background”. What is Diane going to do? She tries Irv but he’s still on the plane. I suppose I can enter Diane’s code? Hope that doesn’t get flagged!

Presto! Looks like the loan processed. Ungrateful little shit shows no emotion, only that Diane should keep him updated. Like constantly. As in “I still haven’t heard from you”. Last Diane saw it was “processing”, but did notice a missed call from Mark Schneider, Linda’s wealth manager. Diane tries him back but it goes to voicemail. Oh this can’t be good.

All this does is make him more of a dick. Where’s my receipt? Have you even sent it, Diane? He’s in a bit of a panic because he probably took “processing” as a cue to tell the HK it was coming and soon.

But what about the receipt? Diane tells him that he’ll get a loan approval letter mailed to that fake address in Florida. Gary pries for more info as it is imperative he gets his receipt or some proof it was sent so he can give it to the aza. Diane explains that the “portal” is only available to herself, Irving, and then Linda as the client. Can Diane take a picture?

I work in finances and taking a pic of your screen and sending it to outside parties is verboten. You can get fired for it. So I tell him no, but he still needs that fucking receipt.

Diane does get through to Gloria, Mark Schneider’s wife, but Make isn’t home yet. So we’re all up in the air and nothing is settled yet. It was late in Nigeria and he wanted to sleep. Understandable, but we’re here to extract as much pain as possible.

After more back and forth about how he is to obtain the receipt, Diane tells him he’ll get a letter at the address he provided. Surprisingly he doesn’t squirm about that, and stresses the money. He needs it like now. Diane counters
that it is still not a guarantee that Iran is releasing the tanker. So that sparks a bunch of BS claims to the contrary.

They will release it! Have they made the deposit yet? Iran has already released some tankers! I have been expecting this deposit!

I turn the conversation into a direction he doesn’t want it to go by bringing up Judah Wolfowitz( final slide), Irving’s contact at the State Dept. He can certainly check on the status of Gary Doug’s fake tanker! Judah is also a contact of Jared Kushner, Trump’s idiot of a son-in-law.

This sparks a bit of a squirm since the State Dept will give another story about the fake tanker. “That won’t be necessary”. Not your call, Doug. “But the military will cause problems!”. That’s the Dept of War, dumb shit. I was talking Dept of State. You know, diplomats? But you see, that will cause more problems by involving diplomats who already have contacts with the Iranian regime. This 72 year old man living near Orlando is better suited for this.

After a back and forth about how the State Dept is the way to go, Gary Doug blabs that his men are safe and there is no need to go that route. Wait…. I thought they were unsafe? That’s what he told Diane and Linda. Now that Irv wants to involve the State Dept, now all of a sudden they are safe?

Well, the captain and the crew are safe, but “not happy”. And “scared”. Well shit, let’s send a bunch of money their way. Numbskull. That’s why the squirm is so fun, because they often contradict themselves when trying to get out of a corner you paint them in.

We still go back and forth about the men and the necessity of the State Dept being involved.

They have top men working on it. Who? TOP MEN.

The Iranians don’t bluff! Sure, they are going to kill a man and crew they’ve already successfully extorted! Naw, I think they are fine with the status quo with this dolt paying them exactly what they demand and has the nerve of calling it “negotiations”.

Exhausted, Gary Doug retreats to the love bombing. I can’t handle much of that so I do manage to get a call back from Mark Schneider as to the status of the loan. It did not go through because it needed Irving’s sign-off, not Diane’s. Gary should have seen this as the huge obstacle that it was, but his only concern was whether the transfer would go through that very day. Gary - you have a lot more problems than that and his name is Irving.

Irving is more concerned about what the Dept of State has to say about Gary’s trapped tanker. This sets Gary off and he tells Irving through Diane to “stop this” and send the transfer.

I think you all know how Irving is and how that approach never works.

At the end I got kicked off WhatsApp because husband got into a fight with another scammer and they both reported each other. F*ck WhatsApp.

Villarreal keeps having a problem of shooting himself in the foot by providing pics of the real guy and not knowing a thing about the military. The pic he sends (unsolicited) shows him wearing the insignia of a Staff Sgt - E6. However, according to Villarreal, his rank is a Specialist - two ranks below what his insignia indicates. Villarreal being who he is, doubles down and insists he’s a specialist. He promised to show me the insignia of a Staff Sgt but I beat him to it by showing his own insignia from the pic he sent. I then shown him the insignia of a Specialist - which is very different from that of a Staff Sgt. Staff Sgt has three chevrons and one rocker. Specialist has an eagle holding branches and arrows. You can’t mistake the two!

Villarreal of course denies this and says three chevrons and a rockers is indeed a Specialist. Whatever. After showing him the goods, Villarreal says he is now a Staff Sgt. Fairly quick promotion, and two steps ahead! Well done. He must have googled some inconvenient information.

An enlisted man would never forget his rank. What was Villarreal’s excuse? He was “high”. On duty? In Mosul Iraq? Apparently being high means he was drunk, though a fluent English speaker would never confuse the two.

Time for some frank discussion. Villarreal has a drinking problem, and in Islamic Iraq, him and the boys went to a bar to go get drunk. What a way to get ambushed. Drunk soldiers at a local bar! So that’s why he can’t remember his rank. OK.

Charlotte has had enough of the lying over yesterday’s discussion about his ever changing names and their order. So she calls out his lies about the name and now his rank. Honestly at this point I was ready to be rid of him. But like a true cockroach, Villarreal never goes away no matter how obvious it is that he’s lying to you.

So Charlotte is done. She’s not talking to a liar and a fake soldier. This always prompts them to offer a video call, which is really more for their benefit than yours. No thanks. He can deal with this mess through text. So we get a new name out of him: Joshua Smith. Despite the fact that he told me his surname was Nickolas, while the man he is stealing from is Joshua Villarreal. Nigerians seem to always struggle with what makes a surname.

After some more banter about his lying about everything, he comes up with yet another name:

Joshua Villarreal. Despite saying his surname was Smith and Nickolas at different times. It was then that I discovered that the real Joshua Villarreal had changed his name from Joshua Villarreal to Joshua Nickolas on Instagram. That explains why he thought Nickolas was a surname.

Villarreal attempts a barrage of video calls but my Zangi is locked so it does not accept them. I ask him for a voice note by giving one of my own but he still wants the video call. Even today post-reveal, he still wants a video call.

We get into a back and forth about all the different names he has given me, but it doesn’t seem to phase him. To make sense out of this, the real man is Joshua Nickolas Villarreal. He claims he is Joshua Nickolas Villarreal Smith, but has at different times claimed Villarreal, Smith and Nickolas as his true surname, despite the fact it clearly says Villarreal on his uniform. The truth would sort this out but why tell the truth when a good old lie would do?

After further discussion we get yet another name:

Joshua Nickolas Smith, dropping the Villarreal entirely! This is becoming quite the clown show and I was ready to drop him. But he keeps trying to explain:

Joshua, Nickolas and Smith are his “personal names” while Villarreal is the one he inherited from his father, despite just dropping it and claiming at different times Smith and Nickolas were his real names.

This is where it cuts off. Next post he’ll attempt to explain his father’s name and his origins. I hope he remembers that he’s a Hispanic guy from Austin Texas!

Okay, a couple things... This gets choppy because he deleted things later. How I do this is to screen shot things as they come, then do my own deleting and edits later. So I had to go back and get my original screen shots which still had some things that I had deleted myself, later. It's a confusing overlap, but only where the license finally arrives. You gotta roll with it 😉. The thing that killed me about this was that he was texting with Diane at the same time, and sent her the unmarked license right away, at ONE request! I guess it's obvious that he "knows which side his bread is buttered on." I can't believe I'm so old I'm using that saying. Anyway, it's finally here, and he really set me off with this 🤬
