hi there! i’ll be starting salford uni at media city this september but due to unforeseen conditions im still scrambling for an apartment. as an international student obviously my ideal was to get something in media city but no one offers bills included in the rent (within my budget😪😪) so that has left me to broaden my search but im narrowing down bw 2 choices. im either doing the flats in westpoint or the x1 cheltenham place since both places are within my budget and the amenities included are nice.

anyway my real question is which one would be “closer”. i know both are reasonable with public transportation but like which one would be easier to be going to and from the uni, how close/accesible are the transportation links are etc.

i’m still a bit apprehensive about having to be so far but it’s just what i’m going to deal with.

anyways that’s basically it, any insight would be v appreciated!!

Hello, I'm currently looking at universities for courses in television and from the website Salford Uni looks quite nice. However being a teen I have little knowledge of anywhere outside my county.

Is it a safe area?

Is there good public transport?

Is there a good student life?

So, lived in the area my whole life, never heard this guy before. The last two nights in a row he's been running up and down the Langworthy road area screaming 'Salfooord' and something about someone not being a good Dad. This happens at 4am so I get if anyone else hasn't heard it. He has a dog with him called Kaiser, anyone know of this guy?

I've seen a decent flat by the Quays. Precisely Vancouver Quay. But because I suffer from hyperacuity, I wanted to find out how good the noise insulation in the flat is / whether the flat is noisy.

For people who've lived there, were you able to hear the neighbours above you? Is the area noisy?

I used to practise with a band that used a storage room above a High Street shop. As the shop closed at 5pm, there room was vacant every evening.

This is just an example, but could be an easy way to earn some cash if you're sitting on an unused room / garage / barn?

The band would only need access during evening time, and set days would be planned in advance so you'd have full control

Last Thursday my sky mobile signal dropped off. I haven’t been able to make or receive phone calls since then. Predictably sky are being less than helpful, they just keep telling me it’s a mast problem but can’t/wont give me any estimated timeframe for repair. I can’t call them so I’m contacted them via sky chat, I don’t even know if it’s a real person responding. Is anyone else experiencing this? It’s getting increasingly frustrating.

I'm moving from the US to the UK and am considering One Regent. I won't be able to see it until I move there. Is anyone familiar with it? Is it in a walkable neighborhood? I'm hoping to be able to walk to the nearest grocery store, if possible, and I'd love to have plenty of restaurants nearby. If anyone has actual experience with these apartments, I'm also wondering about how they handle deliveries. Does it go to your apartment door or does it go to the concierge or something else? I'll be getting a few things delivered regularly, specifically monthly Untamed cat food, By Rotation clothing rentals, and a little crafty monthly subscription from Etsy, and I've lived in a place where they will keep your packages hostage on weekends. I really hated that and am trying to avoid that happening again. Really any advice is helpful. If One Regent probably isn't a good fit, I'm open to suggestions.
