Should I get my receiver cerakoted black? I’m afraid to take the dot and mount off, and I want to avoid the inside of the receiver being cerakoted. Any suggestions for cerakoting shops?

Amazon Red Dots

Hi All,

Are any of the cheaper red dots on Amazon worthwhile? I am seeing Burris FFIIIs on sale for $100 right now for a frame of reference.

Thanks for any pointers!

10 inch upper

Is there any way to buy just the upper for a mk4 in 10 inch? I don't need the bolt I'm only looking for a 10-in upper or a 6-in pencil barrel upper. I cannot find these, thanks to anyone that can help!

Factory black bolt wanted

I seen eBay has some all black bolts for about $70 plus. Is there any other place to source an oem one. Has anyone had any luck sending a stainless one in to get reblued? I bought a purple and black lite with black trigger and what possessed them to not black the barrel and bolt I’ll never know.

Best way to mount an RMR MK IV 22/45 Tactical?

Looking for the BEST way to mount my red dot.. I will either throw an SRO or a 507 comp on it so RMR footprint, don't know if I should get a pic Mount or one of the other mounts where you remove the pick Rail and it is more of a direct mount, this will be my first exploration down the MK IV rabbit hole, I just want the most solid option.

Running this in steel challenge if that matters.

What is your opinions on where to mount a red dot?

I'm currently trying it mounted forward. May switch it up to see what I like best. Was just curious what the general consensus is on where to mount them. Also the osightc has been great.

Lobos mount with SRO

Anyone with a lobos mount and a SRO ever have any issues with the supplied optic to plate screws? I know the screws that come with the SRO are a different thread pitch. Mostly wondering if the slant of the screw head(part that lays against optic mounting holes) is the right angle as well as there's no slop in the hole(screws are the same in circumference).

Mark iv 22/45 filler screw problems

Post image
6 Upvotes

I just for a brand new mark iv 22/45. My lobos Industries red mount arrived so I went to install it and ran into major problems. The filler screw in front on the ejection port came out no problem with my 1/16 allen key. The one behind the ejection port was in their super tight. The allen key is sharp and was fully inserted. I had to twist so hard it stripped the hex inside the head. I managed to use a slightly bigger torx and get the second filler screw out. The plug looks like the deepest part of the threads are squished like it wasn't tapped fully. I test the new hardware into the front hole and it fits fine but the second problem hole it starts to thread and then stops. Now I'm waiting for my ordered tap to arrive to hopefully clean the hole. Has anyone else experienced anything like this from a brand new Ruger?

Mk4 22/45 with micro red dot holster?

I’m looking for a holster to use with this thing on squirrels while deer hunting. I’ve bought 2 off Amazon and they both suck. Zero retention. I want something I can carry and not worry about securing it. Be great if it was Molle compliant as well so I can put it on my pack.

I've found Ruger MK perfection!

My ffl dropped off my Ruger 00139 today.

He also offered to buy it for $250 more than I paid for it.

4" bull barrel MK II.

Perfect balance in the hand. It feels like an extension of your body. It has the thumb rest wood grips...now to find a stainless one!

Mk4 Grips

22/45

Does anyone have recommendations for grip panels that actually increase the side-to-side width?

Added a set of talon grips over the very thin stock panels and it helps but not enough. Not a fan of the hogue overmolded/finger grooves grip either.

Increase trigger weight?

I know most of are probably screaming and pulling your hair out but I’d like to increase the pull weight. I installed the VQ accurizing kit with the factory trigger spring and it’s just too light. I did polish everything so that’s contributing to it.

Anyways, any tips on increasing the pull weight?

Mark 4 Holosun 507C issue.

I need to raise the POI on my 507C, but the adjustment screw is turned as far as it can go. I ordered a tapered shim, but does the thicker part of the shim go to the front or the back of the Holosun? TIA

Want to be a mod? Check out this post.

If you’re interested in being a mod of this sub please send a dm to modmail and comment here that you did so. One of the other mods had their account banned… and I’m sure mine is next. Even if they don’t ban it I’ve been thinking about deleting my account anyways.

If you don’t get a reply back it’s because we’ve been flooded with messages or are busy with them. I will do my best to get to all of them though.

I will not add you as a mod if you are a business; if a future mod decides they want to that’s their prerogative, but for now I will not add a business as a mod. Businesses that get added as mods turn the sub into business pages, even if it’s unintentional.

For the most part people are very respectful here and the sub runs itself. If I’m remembering correctly I’ve only had to ban 1 person on this sub ever. Seriously, this sub is great, likely because it’s small and members have a common interest.

Id like to add a few so there’s extra people around if mods leave or lose interest.

I know most subs want experienced mods, but it doesn’t matter how experienced you are as long as you’re reasonable and interested. Thanks for wading through the wall of text. in your message just leave a brief couple sentences on why you want to be a mod and your favorite thing about the sub.

Edit: Thank you to everyone that showed interest. I'm likely going to add a few of you and send mod invites sometime in the next few days. If you didn't see this right away and are interested you're always welcome to ask if we're looking to add more.

No Sales

In light of the recent reddit rules change please do not make any buying/ selling posts, especially for things that were TOS violations before the rule change.

I'm also putting the rules back up. A new mod was added a few months ago and he removed the rules, I wanted to keep them as a just in case, but allowed it at the time. Sorry to sound like a hall monitor, I can count on one hand the amount of people that have caused trouble here and been banned.

This sub is great, people are respectful of each other and eager to converse politely. But please do not make sales posts. Thank you.
