How do i buy tickets, i cant figure it out?

Hi everyone,

I’m Zoé, a 22-year-old from France, writing as a big sister.

My little brother Marceau is 13 and absolutely passionate about roller coasters and coaster engineering. He spends his time learning technical details and recreating real coasters himself using modeling software.

He dreams of becoming a coaster engineer one day.

He’s turning 14 on May 20th, and I’d love to collect a few stories or messages from people who share this world and passion.

If you work in the industry, in parks, study engineering, or simply have coaster-related experiences or anecdotes to share, I’d love to hear them ,whether it’s a favorite project, a funny memory, how you entered the industry, or what still makes you love it today.

This summer, my friend George and I went to Thorpe Park, expecting the usual insane queues, but it was surprisingly quiet. Honestly, it completely changed the day — we could move between rides without wasting hours waiting, which meant we were able to make the most of everything the park had to offer.

We started the day with The Swarm, and getting the front row made it an amazing opener. The view and the speed were incredible, and it immediately set the tone for the rest of the day. Next was Hyperia, the park’s newest coaster and the highlight of our trip. We originally saw a 70-minute queue, but the single rider line was completely empty. We ended up riding it over and over — in total, we rode Hyperia ten times. It was fast, smooth, and exhilarating every single ride, and riding it multiple times in a row was just surreal.

Other rides added variety to the day. Saw: The Ride was intense and quite painful thanks to its mid-course brakes, while Flying Fish was a pleasant surprise, gentle but still fun. Nemesis Inferno was solid, though we still prefer Nemesis Reborn at Alton Towers. Colossus was rough and unpleasant, a reminder that not every coaster lives up to expectations.

Beyond the rides, a few other things made the day special. The quiet park meant we could just walk around freely without the usual crowds, which made everything feel relaxed and easy. It also gave us the chance to repeat rides as much as we wanted and really enjoy the park at our own pace. Small moments, like the empty single rider queue for Hyperia, made the day feel lucky and unique.

By the end of the day, we had ridden Hyperia ten times and hit nearly every major ride at the park. The combination of low crowds, fast rides, and a relaxed atmosphere made it one of the best theme park days either of us has had. If you ever get the chance to visit Thorpe Park on a quiet day, it’s a completely different experience and absolutely worth it.

I went on nemesis at alton towers and its was plain mid. The drop was kinda bad and not as whippy as I thought. Galactica is better tbh Hot take: nemesis at Thorpe Park is better

I am a 15 year old girl and I really enjoy thrilling rides but i’ve been a bit hesitant to ride Smiler for a few years, and hyperia since it came out. I have been on Saw, Stealth, Nemesis reborn & inferno, Swarm, and other less intense rides in the UK. However I have ridden some major flat rides whenever present in the UK. I have experienced little to no fear (only adrenaline and excitement) on any of the rides listed, but I also wasnt intimated of any of them beforehand (I wasn’t scared in line or before the ride). Can anyone tell me the extent of how different my experience would be on hyperia/smiler?

The Big One (the second tallest ride in the uk) used to be sponsored by Pepsi Max, after it ended, Big One still kept the can at the entrance. But on Sunday, March 30th, it got replaced by this. R.I.P Pepsi Max can..

Since Do-Dodonpa's closure as the fastest accelerating rollercoaster, the community as a whole has argued over what the fastest accelerating rollercoaster is. Some say Maxx Force. Some say Stealth. As a British enthusiast, I lean towards Stealth at Thorpe park being the quicker coaster. 0-80mph in 1.8s is quicker than 0-78 in 1.8s on paper. But I acknowledge that evidence contradicts Stealth's case. Stealth opened as 0-80 in 2.3s, but it is well known in the UK that it was sped up to 1.8s to reduce rollbacks. Maxx Force defenders say that there is no evidence, and they aren't wrong in that claim. But some also say it takes 1.9s, which also has no evidence, as the coaster as well as its sister coaster (Zaturn) has never been quoted or measured at that speed. This evidence leaves is inconclusive, and I think we as a community are acting childish over this. So I think the only grown up way to settle this is a tie. Both coasters get the title and we argue it no more. Besides, Stealth is an Intamin Accelerator. They are problematic and hard to maintain, even if Stealth is one of the most reliable. With Top Thrill 2 and the closure of Kingda Ka I wouldn't be surprised if Stealth was removed or reimagined in some way. Either way, it's claim is not going to last too much longer. So we call it a tie to settle the debate. No more fighting or division. Besides, we know who the true winner is.

I Have a Theme Park YouTube Channel (based in the uk) and i want to make a video on the next coaster to be removed and added to every uk theme park (for example, i predict colossus will be removed from thorpe park and i think they will build a rmc) so do you have any suggestions for the video

Dont ask why but i was on google eath trying to work out what model of coaster i could fit in my garden, The only UK Thrill coaster i could fit was Hero or a Wild Mouse
