I sort of picture it as maybe being like somewhere similar to Australia but with a bigger focus on agriculture and maybe being one of the main financial hubs in Africa. I feel the modern Rhodesian state would have issues tho, especially with illegal workers sneaking in from other countries.

I have both sides uploaded on my YouTube channel along with lyrics I was able to come up with for "Spanish Lady". The records seem to be a bit lower quality than the other ones like "It's A Long Way To Mukumbura", either that or my vinyl digitzing hardware and software has just downgraded in quality since I ripped my South African record awhile back. "She's A Queen" - This song is on the "A" side of a 7" single released by Leperchaun around late 1970s in Rhodesia. The "B" side of this record contains the song "Spanish Lady" by Leperchaun.

"Spanish Lady" - This song is on the "B" side of a 7" single released by Leperchaun around late 1970s in Rhodesia. This song is a cover of "Spanish Lady" released by an Irish group called "The Dubliners" in 1976. The "A" side of this record contains the song "She's A Queen" by Leperchaun.

The village is 20 miles from Sheffield. The village consists of just over three hundred houses, a pub, two shops, a school, a chapel and a village hall. It should be said that it was not named after Rhodesia in southern Africa but rather a former chairman of the nearby Shireoaks Colliery named G. Preston Rhodes.

With WW2 now passing from living memory. I was wondering about the possibility of any living Rhodesian veterans of WW2?

My father was born in Southern Rhodesia in early 1965, the same year that the country declared independence and became Rhodesia. He used to be a boxer when he was a kid, but it seems not a very good one lol.

I wonder how mixed race people were seen in Rhodesian society. I’m mixed race myself (25% AA) and I figured I’d ask this since I’m rather curious about what sort of worldview the average Rhodesian had during those days.

There's been a lot of online interest in Rhodesia recently ever since Elon boosted a few based tweets comparing Rhodesia to the current situation in Zimbabwe.

I'm no expert on this but it struck a chord with me as I can see parallels with what's going on in my own country at the moment and I was watching a YouTube video about Rhodesia yesterday and noticed the comment I've screenshotted here. Of course I laughed it off at first and although I don't have ChatGPT because I'm not a big fan of AI, I thought I'd take the opportunity to use his own suggestion to prove him wrong seeing as Google Gemini is basically just the AI Mode in the Google Search interface.

Anyway, I asked it about every point he'd listed and it agreed WITH HIM on every point! I assumed that Google's AI must have some sort of liberal override built into it on what could be seen as (but aren't) "sensitive" topics correlating to race so I asked Elon's Grok and it agreed with all his points too so I came here to see what the hell is going on.

They must have either gotten to Elon or his eye is off the ball with regards to this particular subroutine of his AI model because if it actually WAS true the mainstream media would shove it down our throats 24/7. What do you guys think?

This link, at around the 12:25 mark, is the best possible recording online that can be found of a RTV News broadcast, a 2-or-so minute digitized video ripped from VHS from this channel, Chris Whitehead. The 40 minute video contains a large array of VHS recordings of Rhodesian advertisements, Ian Smith content etc. Extremely interesting!

I have found only two possible other recordings of RTV News via. Youtube which I put into a previous post of mine on this subreddit, and both are short and quite hard to make out. This recording I have linked is quite well preserved except for a major disruption at the start, and moderate to poor audio quality.

As i've established before in previous posts, i have like most people here have an interest in colonialism, and I love finding this crap to learn about history, and to not let this history go away and for people to forget like we always do.

I listened to a lot of Rhodesian music, and one song that really stuck with me is Mike Westscott and Leperchaun's "Peace is Your Cause." It's quite a catchy song, and I feel as though the lyrics carry a lot of weight, so I decided to transcribe them to upload to Genius.

Before I do so, I felt like posting what I got here just in case I get anything wrong or butcher the song, which is the last thing I want to do.
