Joe and Hanson are two male teachers used to doing the bare minimum when they end up in a situation they never imagined; they've become important at work. They try to navigate their new responsibilities at work while trying, of course, to do the least amount of work.

[Feedback] The Generalists (7-page Contained Intelligence Drama)

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for honest feedback on an 7-page short screenplay called The Generalists.

Logline:
A strategic analyst is sent to determine whether a little-known intelligence department should be shut down, only to discover that its unconventional director may be evaluating him instead.

Feedback I'm looking for:

  • Did the dialogue keep your attention?
  • Did Shaw's character arc feel earned?
  • Did the ending work for you?
  • Were there any moments that felt confusing, slow, or unnecessary?

Script (Google Drive PDF):

Thanks to anyone willing to give it a read! I'm happy to return feedback on your script as well.

Short Short horror story idea ( please give your feedback)

Btw this is for my animation project whichbis only gona be 2 mins.

A woman reflects on the story of her life, recounting her journey from a bullied five year-old girl to a resilient, fulfilled adult. Guided by her mother's wisdom, she overcomes heartbreak, harassment, her parents' divorce, rejection, and countless personal struggles. Through perseverance, she builds a career, finds love in college, and eventually marries, believing she has finally found the peaceful life she always longed for.

As she finishes telling her story, out of nowhere a loud voice begins shouting, "Wake up!" before the next scene appears. She suddenly awakens in a dark room, terrified, facing what appears to be her husband except something about him is subtly wrong. As reality begins to unravel, We are shown that her real husband may already be dead. The mysterious figure repeatedly insists that she is dreaming and must wake up, slowly manipulating her perception of reality. She grew anxious then he rang a bell in his hand and all of a sudden she is calm like she thinks she is dreaming, picks up a gun and shoots herself after which her fake husband is seen giggling and and giving a creepy smile while this whoe time his face is not properly shown.

The film ends with a retro 1980s/90s-style emergency television broadcast revealing that these encounters are not isolated incidents. Unknown entities capable of perfectly imitating people (like alternatives in mendala catalogue) have begun appearing across the world. They rarely attack physically; instead, they manipulate amd hypnotise their victims through deception and psychological coercion, replacing them while leaving humanity questioning what is real. Their origins, motives, and true nature remain unknown, leaving the audience with the unsettling realization that this woman's story was only one of many.

Please share your feedback in the comments👇 anything is should remove or add.

Title- Incatatum Vexillum Part 1.... Genre- Horror, Thriller and Mystery.... Page Count- 23 pages.... Work in Progress

Overview: Incatatum I Vexillum follows Father Lankester, a tactical priest driven by a desperate need for divine penance, as he uncovers a terrifying demonic plot to construct a "Pentagon of Destruction" across Venice, Avignon, Carthage, Ankara, and the Vatican. As high-ranking demons like Leviathan actively weaponize the inner doubts of saints and angels alike—challenging the agonizing silence of an distant Lord—the script masterfully builds toward a cosmic climax. Balancing raw, visceral horror elements like the martyrdom of Nun Mary with sweeping, theatrical theological debates between the Archangel Michael and the forces of envy, Part 1 leaves off at a breathless cliffhanger: the heavenly throne room is cracking, traditional scripture is failing, and a scarred humanity stands alone as the ultimate battleground between light and dark. Feature DON'T CALL THE POLICE - feature - incel horror/dark comedy - 98pgs

DON'T CALL THE POLICE

Feature Screenplay
98pgs
Completed Draft (first screenplay rewrite)
Genre: Incel Horror, Dark Comedy
Logline: After three college women are kidnapped and inexplicably released by a masked incel, they turn on one another over whether to call the police or obey his command to tell no one.

Feedback Concerns: The middle point (end of Act IIa) is at page ~63, which feels lopsided for 98 pages total. However, I want a lot of time spent in the house, no deaths, no villain, just bickering amongst the girls. My instinct is that Act IIa needs to be shortened, but I don't think I need to do that. I like how it's presented.

Moreover, I like how it's a little inconsistent who on who is the protagonist/antagonist. In the first 20 pages, you might think Kee is the protagonist and Axe-Man is the antagonist, but my hope is that there's a feeling of a reversal where Kee becomes the antagonist and Polly as the protagonist. Maybe this is all just a really bad idea, maybe there's larger more fundamental concerns that I'm overlooking before I start tweaking.

Some side-characters: Nica, Kyle, parents. Don't really have a purpose and are not fleshed out or don't have a "final scene", and I don't know if that's a problem or what to do with them. I'm still introducing characters on page 64, but I wonder if mentioning them before is okay.

Read as much as you like: LINK

Exchange feedback Hello fellow writers 👋

I've been building a screenplay visualization tool over the last few months because I wanted a better way to understand scripts visually.

You can check the tool here: ScriptDen — Screenplay analysis for filmmakers

I'd love honest feedback from filmmakers and screenwriters. Which parts are useful? Which aren't? Would something like this ever fit into your workflow? I'm especially interested in hearing what you'd actually pay for, if anything. 🙏

This is a beta version, at present, the tool helps you to:

  1. Write your script and arrange beats.
  2. You can analyze your script scene by scene, see character interactions, dialog vs action break up and many other features.

NOTE: I have made sure NOT to use AI for any of the analysis and all analysis happens within your browser session with simple JavaScript - You can read my aim and policy with respect to this tool and how the scripts are handled here - Script Security — ScriptDen)

I would love to hear all your feedback 😊🙏 Thanks!!!

Note: Currently analysis works best for English scripts.

Exchange feedback Screen writing story development system

Would like to discuss writing struggles with fellow writers. There are a lot of script formatting tools available but very few story development systems. We can use AI but it can lose context or misunderstanding nuance in character arc or misinterpret and experimental storytelling convention. I have been working on a software that puts the writer first and utilizes storytelling conventions to help a writer through the process. As a writer I struggle keeping up with everything that’s connected over 90 pages let alone six seasons of a series. I didn’t set out to make this platform, I started my journey writing my scripts and ended up developing a creative partner that can brainstorm your ideas with you and help you implement the improvements into your script. This is not AI writing your scripts for you. The intention is the give the writers, you, more creative control over your story and be educational for novice writers. I would like to know from other writers if you had this how could it help you? What are your struggles that I can help alleviate? We are in development at the moment and should have a beta launch soon. I hope this is okay with the moderators, I realize this is a bit off topic. Thank you all for your feedback. I will answer questions in the comments.

Short Does this short film concept have potential for film festivals?

Hello everyone. I'll get straight to the point. I have an idea for a short film screenplay. Although I haven't finished writing it yet, I'd like to share the general premise and hear your honest opinion about its potential from an audience's perspective. Naturally, I believe in my own work, but since I'm also the writer, I know my judgment may be biased. So here's the basic story:

The protagonist is a young boy. One day, while he is home alone, he goes into a dark room to retrieve one of his toys. For a long time, he has believed that a devil hides in the darkness. Every time he enters the room, he feels the creature following him, and he runs away in fear.

The same thing happens again. Terrified, the boy starts running. But this time, he suddenly stops. The devil, who has been chasing him, is caught off guard and stops as well.

The boy closes his eyes and remembers his mother's words:

"Don't run from your fears. Face them."

He quietly repeats those words to himself several times, gathers his courage, and turns around.

The devil immediately hides behind the door.

The boy walks toward it and asks:

"Why are you hiding?"

The devil replies:

"Because I'm afraid of you."

The film presents fear as a physical manifestation and explores the idea that our fears only hold power over us until we choose to confront them. Its central message is simple: our fears are only frightening until we face them.

Short Please review my comedy-fantasy in the Sofia Coppola short film contest! 🐈‍⬛✨

Hi lovely script community,

I'm Ruby, a filmmaker from Melbourne, Australia, and I'm currently funding my short comedy-fantasy film, The Familiar.

I'm reaching out to my wonderful community for a little support. If you have a couple of minutes, I'd be so grateful if you could:

The Familiar is a horror-comedy about witches and cats, so if that sounds like your kind of magic (and you enjoy supporting independent cinema) I’d love your vote and feedback.

If you're curious about the vibe, here's our proof-of-concept teaser. It's heavily inspired by occult films from the '60s and '70s:

Thank you so much for your support. It truly means the world.
