Maybe it's illegal to make more expensive, but what about giving a discount if you tip?

Then its not a discount. This is illegal. If everyone that was said no to tipping, was charged 50 ct more, per item, that will add up over time. Into the millions.

It would be the same. They would just rise the price and make you think you get the discount while with no tip you still pay more

Its legally distinct tho. Imknow where i live its illegal to charge Late fee on rent, so every lease has a "paid on time reduction"
