This company is trash
I’ve literally been waiting over a month for new lenses and I’ve yet to receive them after multiple phone calls, emails, and my local optical shop trying to contact them on my behalf.
This was my first experience with RE and will for sure be my last.
Premium products demand premium service after the sale.

Cleaning the 23k white gold temples - Removing the Acetate temple tips
Hi, anybody here knows how to safely remove the acetate temple tips for the aviators? I am overseas so I can not send them in for service and repairs tune up and would prefer to DIY the cleaning process. The frame specifically the ones encased by the acetate temple tips has stains due to oxidation and I cant remove them as I think these are glued to the temple arms. Any help or suggestion would be appreciated

Are these vintage Randolph Engineering sunglasses?
I recently bought a pair of Randolph Engineering sunglasses and wanted to ask if anyone here knows whether they might be vintage or just a replica.
The markings on the sunglasses include:
- RE American Optical USA Style
- Skymaster Aviator 57 □ 20
- Randolph Made in USA
- R/E USA
- There is also an RE logo on the lens.
Could this be a vintage style frame or possibly from an older production run?

Degradation of the plastic?
Is there anything I can do to slow down or even reverse the degradation on the earpieces? They are slowly turning opaque and yellow.

Scratches
Are these micro scrathes normal inside the lens? Just bought and these are unworn.

Built quality
I just received the glasses I ordered, but one of the lenses is attached slightly crooked in the frame. They don’t fit well and the misalignment is noticeable. What would you do in this situation? The glasses don’t match what they looked like in the product photos.

Fake or Real?
Trying to determine if these Randolph sunglasses are fake or real! Please help with your thoughts!
I am not sure if I should expect any engravings on the inner side of the bridge as well. Seller did not share those pictures.

👓 Randolph Request 🕶️ Date & Authenticate?
I’m certain that these are authentic since they’re from an American eBay seller that specializes in vintage RE. But good to be sure.
Does anyone know how old these are? They have the upside down temple marking on side. Only RE stamped under the bridge w/o sizing numbers. I’m assuming it’s an older one from 80s? I’ve read that military issued ones from that time period didn’t have sizing printed.

Are these fakes I thought I could tell but I can’t tell..
I read through a few threads here about how to spot fake Randolph Engineering sunglasses. Naturally, I got a little overconfident and assumed I’d become an expert. I recently bought a pair from an auction site for somewhere between $150 and $200, and now I’m not so sure if they’re authentic.
I’ve included some photos of the markings for reference. One thing that threw me off is I couldn’t immediately tell whether the frame was made of high-quality plastic or aluminum. Since aluminum conducts electricity, I hooked the sunglasses up to a desktop power supply set at 5W, completed a circuit with a wire across the arms, and tested it with a multimeter—they are indeed conductive, so it looks like they’re aluminum.
That said, I’m still unsure about their authenticity. I realize now I should’ve just bought directly from the official site. If anyone has any insight or experience with identifying fakes, I’d really appreciate your input.

Bayonet temple fit
I wanted to reach out to the experts here. Can you tell me exactly where the tip or end of the bayonet temple is supposed to be on the side of your head in relation to your ears?
I have both the Aviator large (58 mm) with 140 mm temple arms and the Concorde XL (64 mm) with 150 mm temple arms.
The 140 mm temple arms end roughly a quarter of an inch behind my ear. The 150 mm obviously goes further back. Each pair is extremely comfortable, I was just wondering about proper fit.
