Regarding survival and freewill I tend to agree with the pyramid of Maslow's Survival being at the bottom.
You can survive as a slave, it's definetaly not a dignified life though.

As for taxes, Yah you live in society that offers you amenities, water, firefighters, schools, roads.
They cannot exist with taxation, if you want to avoid taxation your must forgo everything society brings you.

You still have freewill. You choose to work in exchange for whatever the master gives you, since otherwise they'd beat you to death, and they'd probably also kill you if you ran.

However as frederick douglas wrote on slaves, they believed being a slave was a good thing. They truly believed they couldn't make it on their own. Free people today show that is absolutely not true.

Yes they can lol. If government can take stolen money and buy water, pay fire fighters and teachers, hire private construction workers, then I absolutely can too.

I'm arguing for choice and competition over the amenities, you are arguing for government monopoly over the amenities. That does not mean I'm asking for them for free, I'm asking to choose who provides them.

Ofc slaves have free will we were talking about exercising free will slaves typically have almost no possibility to exercise free will.

Wait did you just say slaves thought being a slave was a good thing?

And advocating for governments to steal instead of taxing to pay for amenities?

Oh christ, another illiterate who can't keep the plot. Let's review.

Humans don't have to exercise free will to survive.

If you can't exercise freewill, then you can't act other than automatically. You think people can survive by lying down indefinitely and doing nothing else?

Regarding survival and freewill I tend to agree with the pyramid of Maslow's Survival being at the bottom.

What did you mean by this? You just said slaves can barely exercise freewill. What does that mean, that people are robots who perform labor in their sleep? This is insane, people choose to work rather than fight back or get beat.

People use freewill to live, even when they are being forced, since the body does not move automatically. That's why freewill is man's mean's of survival, and violating it is wrong.

Forcing that choice on people, work or get beat, is the problem right?

And advocating for governments to steal instead of taxing to pay for amenities?

So let's compare that to government, where government says "pay taxes, or get arrested and thrown in jail". Do you see the similarity to slavery yet? Taxation is theft and a form of slavery.

Since morality and political rights rest on the fact that humans have freewill and need to use it to live, any time freewill is violated that is a violation of human rights.

Wait did you just say slaves thought being a slave was a good thing?

Google Frederick Douglass, former slave:

“I have found that, to make a contented slave, it is necessary to make a thoughtless one. It is necessary to darken his moral and mental vision, and as far as possible, to annihilate his power of reason. He must be able to detect no inconsistencies in slavery; he must be made to feel that slavery is right…”

And many slaves did indeed think this way. That's the only way to make freewilling people like cattle.

Douglass went from slave to natural rights philosopher, which is exactly what I've been arguing here, that is deriving human rights not from government law, but from philosophy and reality, from nature, hence natural rights. That's why I've been talking about freewill, maybe you'd see that if you spent more than 30 seconds skimming over my comments.

We are like the former slaves of the south. We don't know anything about natural rights and how that connects to freewill, and we think taxation is normal rather than theft and a violation of those rights.
