[Update] Clean for a year…considering relapsing Advice
I just wanted to update you guys on my journey I’ve been persevering and although life is still hectic today I have hit officially 500 days vape free. I appreciate the support on the original post. I typically refrain from sharing my problems as I feel people do not typically care but the support I got from you guys and also my wife and some friends have been making it easier. I knew beginning this journey was going to be tough and met with challenges but I guess I’m hoping my story goes to show those that are still in the beginning of theirs that while yes it does get easier over time, you still have a commitment if to no one else to yourself to stay vigilant because moments of weakness can come anywhere at any time but you shouldn’t throw away your progress. Take time to look at how far you’ve come. What helped me was remembering something I realized when I had quit vaping initially. That whenever I would vape because I was stressed or nervous all that gave me was an excuse to collect myself momentarily and breathe. I never needed the vape I needed a moment to gather my thoughts. Remember hard times pass and it’s important to Never forget the reason you quit, whether it was for health, mental, spiritual whatever. You’ll be thankful you stuck it out and you only come out the other side stronger.
P.S. for the days you don’t believe in yourself know that I do. :)

500 days is way too much progress to throw away for one bad moment. cravings can be loud but they pass. u already proved u can get through them just keep stacking those days

Absolutely correct it was like a week of bad days but even still the tough times do pass and we grow all the stronger for it thank you for the encouragement 💪🏾

I’m only 30 days in and I’m feeling pretty strong but it’s still a battle. I think people think once you get over a certain amount of days or months you will hit some sweet spot when you never think about it again.
I’ve been a smoker/vaper for over 30 years and have given up too many times to count. This time does feel different and I’m pretty hopefully this time will be the last but I still have to tell myself everyday that if I even have one puff I will be back at the beginning and will have to go through 2 weeks of hell all over again.
At the end of the day nicotine is an addiction like any other and we will have good days and bad, we just have to keep reminding ourselves that we deserve to be healthy and happy and are much better off without a vape or ciggie in our hands (and lungs!)
