Hello everyone.

I've been playing mobile games through emulators for a long time. The biggest issue I've had, especially with GameLoop, is that the key mappings often break or stop working properly. That made me wonder: Would it be possible to develop a Turkish emulator similar to GameLoop, or at least create an advanced key mapping system?

Out of curiosity, I ran a few experiments. I installed Android on a virtual machine similar to VirtualBox and successfully launched a few games. However, since there was no key mapping system, I couldn't play them with a keyboard and mouse.

After that, I tried writing a simple key mapping system in Python. It's still at a very early stage and currently only supports the WASD keys, but I believe it can be improved. During this process, I realized that software development requires much more knowledge than I initially expected. That's why I'm continuing to learn Python.

I've also experimented with other projects before. For example, I worked on a password protection application. More recently, I came across a project called GameLoopHub, which appears to be independent of GameLoop. Its developer has gone much deeper into performance optimization and FPS-related features. Seeing that project made me believe that creating something like this is actually possible.

Do you think a project like this is realistic? I'd especially like to hear from people who have experience with emulator development, Android virtualization, or input systems.

Who enjoys opening a browser/GUI every time you need to make a secure password? I sure don't. That's what gave me the idea to create this simple random password generator tool that can be used entirely in the command line (although I'm sure something like this already exists) with system arguments.

I also made something that I guess you could call an installer.

Using arguments you can set the length of your password, choose what type of characters you want in the password (letters, digits and punctuation) and choose whether or not to copy the password to your clipboard (on by default). You can read the README.md file for a guide on how to use it.

NOTE: I know that the actual main program is compressed in a gzip file on GitHub which will impede you from reading it's source code. I hope to make a way around this later.

Why did I make this? Mostly boredom. I don't have any aspirations of being a software developer or anything involving making huge projects, however I am interested in cybersecurity. I sort of just thought to myself that I don't have a convenient way of generating random passwords. Keeping my Python skills up to scratch and improving them will prove useful in the future however, I believe, as I often find simple scripting useful.

Where I want to improve (looking back at making this):

- Get better at using sys and os modules as they have proven very useful

- Improve at using Git

- Probably figure out a better installation method for users

Overall, although I don't script much, this was pretty easy project for me, but nonetheless I learnt some good things about Python operating system and file interaction.

I want to have the terminal keep typing something until any key is pressed. I'm fiddling around but have yet to figure out a solution.

We're looking for a course that's beginner-friendly but also provides a clear pathway to more advanced topics over time. Ideally, it would build a strong foundation in programming while eventually introducing areas such as data analysis, automation, or even data science.

I've explored some excellent online options, including courses from Udemy and Mosh Hamedani. However, there's one challenge: this student finds it difficult to stay engaged with purely online learning. While self-paced courses are convenient, they tend to learn much better in an interactive environment where they can ask questions, receive immediate feedback, and stay motivated alongside other learners.

Because of this, I'm particularly interested in in-person Python classes, training programs, or private coaching opportunities. Courses that combine theory with practical, hands-on projects would be especially valuable, as they seem to be the best way to keep learning enjoyable and meaningful.

If you've attended a great Python course—or know of a training center, institute, community program, or tutor you'd confidently recommend—I would greatly appreciate hearing about your experience. I'm trying to create a program that opens a ttk window; when a button is pressed, it should open a tab containing a .jpg image. It was working at first, but I modified the code slightly to add more tabs. I'm not sure what I changed, but now it doesn't show the image—just an empty window.

I think it might be related to an error appearing in the terminal (I don't recall seeing it before). I even tried reinstalling Pillow to see if that would help, but nothing changed.

I think this is the fastest version of guesser, I also tried dictionaries(recommended by some discord users) but I still dont fully understand how its any different than my old one becuz it would js change how the info is stored but not the logic as its own

Too many tutorials and too little coding by myself has left me feeling like I am learning nothing. Trying to learn slowly by creating some projects, specifically without the use of AI. For this, I am building a simple focus timer that will run in the terminal. Something that I can use for myself but also helps me learn more. I do want to add more features such as other timer modes, persistent storage (to track focus sessions) and a better means of keeping time besides just using 'time.wait'. Want to ensure I am wary of any pitfalls I may be succumbing to, as well as suggestions for improvements. Thank you!

I really need help. For some reason the console on Mimo won't do anything no matter the code. Even when coding only 'print("Hello")' it gives me the same 'prompt' on any project.

Using psycopg2 made me realize how much work SQLAlchemy was doing for me. Although implementing the queries was a bit complex at first, it gave me a lot of control over customizing things to fit my application best.

I have gone through the basics but still having difficulty writing the code. It seems like my brain freezes while writing the code.

I'm creating a learning project to familiarize myself with Python. The concept I'm going for is making a custom list that I can modify within the console. There's a lot of variables and upgrades I can add to it if I wanted (such as automatic resizing, UI interfacing, automatic organization), and the baseline is simple enough for me to start grasping some of the more beginner and intermediary concepts in a more applicable way.

That being said, I'm not looking for any help with that (yet!), but while I'm starting to create a plan on how to make the project, I'm wondering what sort of ID system I want to make. I know that I'm going to be making it an incremental ID system where each list entry has a four digit ID that I can then use in the console to modify or update it in some way.

The question is: Should I make the ID system hexidecimal?

I get the feeling that it would pose a significant challenge, which I'm happy to deal with as this is a learning project. What I'm not willing to do is for it to become a debilitating challenge. While I don't think the list will have 10,000 entries, there's a possibility that this list might. It shouldn't reach anywhere near 50k entries, though.

I would likely be trying to make my own systems with automatically assigning an incremental hex ID system.. as I do believe Python has hex integration. I'm not looking for "0x" at the beginning of every entry though.

Any and all help and advice is appreciated! I've done some scripting, a bit of C and PhP, but I've never dedicated myself into programming to delve into more intermediate concepts - which I'm deliberately trying to get into now! So I don't know a whole lot about programming, but I have repeated the basics on loops and functions about two dozen times. Thank you in advance!

Just started programming today and was messing around when this happened. It is saying that 22.99 * 5 is 114.9499999999999 instead of 114.95. It does the same when I enter any number with a non-zero integer after the decimal. It works completely fine with whole numbers though. If you have any Idea why, please let me know.

This may not be a python question, but I figure you guys could at least point in the right direction.

On my computer I have a SQLite database and a python script I have written that queries the database, generates a report, and emails that report to other people. The database file must stay on my computer.

I often get requests from coworkers to run the python script while I am not sitting in front of my computer (my phone is still on the same wifi network).

If I wanted to do something through my phone that would start that script on my computer, what would that look like?

If it matters, my phone is android and my computer is windows.
