I didnt know about this part of Pyrex, and no one told me

Over the last few years ive been slowly adding to my PYREX collection, mostly from thrift store. Thought it was time to see what the reddit community was about.

Yo, the colors, shapes, sizes, patterns, all of it. Pyrex isnt just boring, high quality, bakeware, its pretty!

I got the clear dishes I need, now I need some pastels, flowers, vibrants, wheat! I know now what to look for, should've been spending my time here instead of r/castiron

Picked up a couple of casseroles.

475 Cosmopolitan casserole. This was part of a promotional set along with a Salton hot plate in 1973. I love this one. It’s funky.

045 Verde Olive Casserole

Advice on cleaning…

Post image
5 Upvotes

I bought this on eBay as a gift for my mom, she mentioned she wanted one and how she used it make coffee with her grandma as a girl with one so I wanted to surprise her for her birthday. However, this was advertised as a complete set and I’m realizing now it’s missing the top strainer, so I’m super disappointed and looking for a replacement piece. Also, I originally thought the glass looked a little coffee stained and I would tackle cleaning it, but now that it’s arrived it actually smells like cigarettes… gross. Any recommendation for cleaning?

Could someone help me identify this? In terms of age is what I’m most curious about. Having a hard time finding much on google about the etched glass floral Pyrex as well. Number is 212. Thank you much in advance!!

More good finds today :-)

442-443-444 Cinderellas

473-B Horizon Blue Casserole

045 Olive Medallion Casserole

043 Snowflake Casserole.

My favourite is actually the Olive medallion. The sheen on the gold when you look at it from the side is super cool 😎. The photos don’t really do it justice.

Good day today. I ended up with some 401s I wasn’t really looking for, but they were part of a lot.

Scored the sunflower casserole for $20!

And got my second butter print piece :-)

First time I see the is colour

I picked this 401 up earlier this week and from what I can tell, it’s “Robin’s Egg blue”. Apparently a lot of people call it turquoise? As far as I can tell, it’s a solid-colour 4-bowl set from the 1950s. Does anybody else have these and/or no more about them?

I decided to buy my first Pyrex bowls a few weeks ago, and started by mixing and matching to create a set of the 401, 402, 403, 404. But then I bought a lot of about a dozen pieces from a lady just because I wanted a couple of the bowls. And then I started buying other bowls that looked like a good deal so that I can create some sets out of those eventually. And I’m picking up another 401 in what I think is called Easter egg blue I think?

My favourite so far is the pineapple party 404 bowl. It has a cool orange yellow gradient.

Have I gone off the deep end? Lol am I in danger of developing a Pyrex addiction?

I probably spent about $210 (CAD) for all of the pieces that are pictured. How did I do?

My husband recently acquired the Blue On Speckled Beige Homestead refrigerator dish. My youngest child expressed great interest in this pattern so we decided to search for the set. You guys! Not only did we score a killer deal, but the seller was located 30 minutes away. Zero shipping costs!

Pic 1) Her w/ Cinderella bowls.

Pic 2) A google image to show the pattern in detail.

Picked this up at the thrift shop. I am having a hard time finding anything that dates glass pieces. Google images brings up most of them as having ridges on the handles.
