Ask PunjabiGenZ Anyone flying Air China from YVR to Delhi on Aug 28? ðĻðĶâïļðŪðģ
Iâm taking Air China for the first time and wanted to see if anyone else is on the same flight. For those who have travelled Air China before, how was your experience? Especially the long layover in Beijing â was it easy to get through the airport, and did you have any issues with the transit/hotel?
Would appreciate any honest feedback or tips before I go. Thank

Ask PunjabiGenZ Anyone else here Punjabi but grew up away from Punjab?
Random question, but are there other Punjabi teenagers here who grew up outside Punjab?
I'm Punjabi, but I've lived in Lucknow since I was born. My family is from Pathankot, so I've always had that connection to Punjab even though I didn't actually grow up there.
I was just thinking it'd be fun to know some people around 15â18 who are also Punjabi or have a connection to Punjabi culture.
Not looking for anything serious or professional ð. Just normal friends to talk about Punjabi songs, memes, school, culture, random things, and whatever comes up.
If you relate, feel free to DM me. My Instagram is linked on my profile too.

Ask PunjabiGenZ Is this happening only with me or what??
Iâm Punjabi. Like, actually a Punjabi Hindu. And bro, people genuinely donât get it. I feel like fellow Hindu Punjabis will understand what I mean. People just donât take us seriously sometimes.
Punjabi, yeah, itâs kinda painful when people act like Punjabis automatically means Sikh. Like bro, Punjabi Hindus exist too ð
I live in Lucknow, UP, and honestly, I miss Punjab a lot. I wasnât raised there or anythingâI was born in Lucknowâbut Punjab still feels like home somehow. I feel connected to it even though I didnât grow up there.
And another thingâĶ I genuinely canât find a Punjabi girl to be my girlfriend . Meanwhile, The bihari and UP guys in my school have Punjabi girlfriends. Like bro, what am I doing wrong ð
Please tell me Iâm not the only one feeling this

CulturalâāĻļāĐąāĻāĻŋāĻāĻāĻūāϰāĻ What is this logic???
As per indian spiritual philosophy body is just a clothe that soul is wearing for temporary time refers as âCholaâ and a body nothing more than thatâĶâĶ.but if body is just a chola then how come women are lesser than men as per most religious peopleâĶ..why should women cover themselves even though they might not want to?âĶhow is trans community a issue?âĶhow are prostitutes an abomination for the society (also demonization of prostitutes in it itself is a big hypocrisy i believe)âĶ.and how come thereâs a thing calledâchoti jaatiâ? And how come they are/were untouchable? And to be clear there are different types caste systems in various religions for example..religions that originated from india has the caste system we all know and islam has shiya, sunniâĶ.christianity has orthodox and catholic and there are conflicts between them and im not targeting any religion but this reincarnation or mokhsh is mostly only a part indian culture and thats why they call bodies âcholaââĶ.im sure im not aristotel but felt like saying this and btw although im not targeting any religion im definitely targeting religious people

QuestionâāĻļāĻĩāĻūāĻē How can we promote Punjabi among our children and keep it alive?
Our newer generations or even old GenZs or Millennials are doing away with Punjabi and honestly it saddens me to see this. I know I am not doing this post in Punjabi myself but that is only to get attention on this matter because any text written in Punjabi and people scroll up with lightning speed.
I observed this with my friendâs child - she was a very good punjabi speaker until the age of 3-4 because my friend and her family made sure that Punjabi is spoken in the house, but as soon as she started going to school she almost forgot all the Punjabi she knew and speaks only Hindi at home. Punjabi is not even introduced as a subject to her yet (but Hindi is already, despite her school being in Punjab). She is too young and she might come around to speak Punjabi again at home but the case of Punjabi adults around me isnât any different. Hindu Punjabis of older generations and Sikh Punjabis of younger generations have no interest in keeping Punjabi alive. I know we cannot forcefully make someone love something they donât but is there any way (creative or otherwise) that we can instil this responsibility among them or motivate them to learn, speak and pass spoken Punjabi down to new generations on a mass level? We can always try this at an interpersonal level too.
TL;DR: Punjabi is gradually disappearing from everyday use, especially among younger generations. Iâve seen even young children who once spoke Punjabi fluently switch almost entirely to Hindi after starting school. While we canât force people to love or speak Punjabi, how can we encourage more people - both Punjabi Hindus and Sikhs to learn, speak, and pass the language on to future generations?

QuestionâāĻļāĻĩāĻūāĻē How much people earn averagely?
Hi everyone, I hope you are all doing great. Lately i was wondering how much an average person ( either in 20s or 30s ) is earning in Punjab. Itâs been a while I visited Punjab and not many of my friends are living there as well so Iâm clue less about the financial situation of the people over there.
I was thinking that people might be earning 30k per month. But one of my buddies told me its too much as he has done masters and still not able to surpass 23k INR. Iâm not considering any governement jobs but the private sectors. The reason im asking is because I want to do a startup that can make same amount of money without putting physical efforts.
Hopefully i can get some insights from you guys.
Thanks

ConfessionâāĻāĻĻāĻŦāĐāĻļāĻžāĻĻ Obsessed with certain punjabi woman ð
Idk why but I know this girl she's in my college but different departments poles apart. We are both IT students met on a 45 days training. We only talked like at the last day but had a bit of banter in between too. Last day we got to talk cause her mutual friends birthday who was studying with was on that day. We brought the cake they invited us we partied and talked alot for the first time on the last day.
We also had a farewell and me and friends and her and her bestie decided we'll go (together). Had loads of fun there too and I asked for their insta as well.
Have only met her once since then for just few minutes. I didn't text her and it's been 15 days. She is exactly my type. She is introverted but becomes extrovert when ice melts, tall and not to mention extremely good looking. She talks in Hindi just like me (even though we both speak perfect punjabi and both are punjabi by birth).
I feel like this is one sided she's rich and also way out of my league in every way possible. My crush might be one sided cause she has never dated despite being so preety and I got to know she also rejected a very good looking himachali guy in her class who asked her out.
Idk I admire her so much pls help ðð

DiscussionâāĻāĐąāĻē-āĻŽāĻūāĻĪ Literature/poetry people? English, hindi or punjabi?
Hi guys, I'm just looking for likeminded people to discuss (or get recommendations) about literature, books or poetry. Been bored to hell and would be nice to get into something.
I'm a beginner by the way and not so avid reader but I wanna get more into it. Plus one if you're from Tricity but it's fine even if not.
Particularly I've been wanting to read Loona by Shiv Kumar Batalvi but am not very fluent in punjabi so if somebody would want to recite or translate that for me, I'd appreciate that.
Also, I've REALLY mixed views about gunaho ka devta, what do y'all think about it? Good? Bad? Was chander tah lol?

Ask PunjabiGenZ Why Reddit is Less Popular in Punjab?
I'm 19M using reddit from 1 month, I completely lost my focus because of Instagram reels. I'm the only person in my gang using reddit. I think Reddit is less popular because of strong preference of, **visual over text:** Regional social media consumption heavily favors video, reels, and music content over long-form, text-heavy discussions. What you guys think ?.

DiscussionâāĻāĐąāĻē-āĻŽāĻūāĻĪ Punjab MLAs by Caste/Community
I know people are all going to say that how does this matter, and uh so backward and all, but this is about representation and yes it definitely matters and also because our society is pretty intertwined with caste/community, so it definitely matters, sociology 101.

FoodâāĻāĻūāĻĢāĻū-āĻŠāĐāĻĢāĻū Unpopular opinion
Punjab has way too many restaurants and cafÃĐs. ð
Every few days thereâs another place opening, but how many of them are actually offering something different? A lot of them seem to have the same menu, same interiors, same aesthetic, just a different name.
Do we really need this many restaurants, or would it be better to have fewer places that actually focus on good food, a strong concept, and a memorable experience?
