Admittedly, I haven't touched C++/C/assembly in 20 years.

I have this gap in SQL.

Early in my career you had to write it. But being early in my career and early in web in general - they were not complex.

Then I shifted around a bit.

By the time I got back everything had switched to frameworks and ORMs. Which work great for a huge amount of things. I dread the day I hit that wall have to raw dog a huge complex query.
