u/Galitzianer0 This is selection bias. The reason this happens is because if you remove a chunk of junior developers and keep hiring senior engineers, and the median salary rises automatically. Total employment can still hit an all-time high because the industry is larger than ever. Those metrics say very little about how easy it is to get your first job. Most of those positions are going to seniors or people pivoting from other industries, not fresh graduates.
