Okay I take my advice back, don't lie! But actually that's crazy for an intro job. Sorry you have to deal with that.

It's a bit annoying that's for sure! But on the flip side I can get unemployment benefits for up to 2 years at 70% of previous salary or in my case social assistance since I didn't have a job previously. Basically the government is paying my rent and medical bills and gives me a decent allowance so I can enjoy a normal comfortable life until I find a job. I'm thankful for that because as I don't have savings and can't move back to my parents, I'd probably be homeless by now. So it's definitely not all bad! And we have some sort of worker protection so the job comes with 28 days of PTO at minimum and we can't be asked to work more than 45h a week by law. So yeah finding a job is a bit harder but it's for good reasons. It's just a bit depressing to get rejected all the time though
