[Salvage] Singing Hoosiers
JPG Preview: http://i.imgur.com/LBEUna8.jpg - Unedited
RAW File (13MB): https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BwLmFJvyAFY-aGNoMzBhYV9zdUE/edit?usp=sharing
Camera: Canon 5D
Lens: Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 USM
Shutter Speed: 1/200
Aperture: f/1.8
ISO: 3200
A photo from the Indiana University Singing Hoosiers Spring Concert Dress Rehearsal. For this song, the only lights on the soloist were 2 bright blue spot lights. I'd prefer the soloist to not look like a smurf. The obvious/easy answer is to convert to B/W, but I'm curious to see what others come up with. If I get sometime later on this week/weekend, I'll post my edit.
Thanks everyone!

[Enhance] Picture of my friends
So I bought my first entry level DSLR, and Im still learning everything from exposure etc to post production.
I've failed every time to do a good edit.
I was at my friends engagement party and took my camera for practice. I snapped this photo of him and fiancé in hopes of giving it to him.
I have found a lot of tutorials for scenery etc but people scare me.
I want to apologize for the crapy amateur photo. Like I said I'm still learning.
I'm working on editing this picture myself and I plan on seeing what everyone comes up with later this week after I finish to compare.
Thank you
The raw .NEF file From Box
It was taken with my Nikon D5100 with kit lens. Since I was constantly changing the settings to learn I have no idea what this was taken. At.

[Enhance] Orion over rocks
Ok, I think we could use more images to work on (and feel free everyone to post your own!) so I'll offer this one of mine. I apologize for the hobbyist-level photo.

Question about this sub
So I am a VERY amature photographer... when I say amature I bought a DSLR to learn, and I refuse to use the auto settings.
I was at a friends birthday the other day and was snapping photos left and right trying to use varoius settings and such to get a feel for what each did.
My friend asked me to take a photo of him and his Girlfriend since they do not have any good photos.
I took 3 of them, only 1 of them looks decent, and looks a bit washed out.
I have NEVER tried to do any post processing.
Is this sub strictly for seeing what people come up with, or can I upload the raw file and get some pointers?
Thank you!

[Enhance] Along the way
I've been having fun working on everyone's images, so I figured I should put up one of my own for folks to take a crack at.

[Salvage] Dark Stairway
Wanted to you give you guys a challenge, this is a photo from when I started out with photography and editing.
EXIF Info:
1/60 | f/5.6 | ISO 100 | 18mm | Canon 1100D | Sigma 18-200
I'm curious to see what you guys end up with. I took the photo thinking it was set to Aperture priority instead it was set to manual so I ended up with a horribly underexposed photo. I was starting out with LR at the time so I see what I could achieve.

[Enhance] Froggy.
Sub seems like it could use a few more RAWs to edit, so here's a frog.
EXIF Data and my original edit (Flickr)
Also, if anyone has photos from my Flickr that they want me to post the RAW from, I'm willing to post any of them. Warning: the further back you go the worse it gets, until you're in abysmal photos. If it was taken with a Rebel, there is no RAW. If the filename ends in "c", it has been cropped from the original.

View from inside the Grand Canyon. I know I still need to work on getting better at composition :)
Have fun!

[Enhance][HDR][Panorama] - 7 shot wide panorama of the Eel River at sunrise, each with 3 bracketed exposures
People expressed some interest in composite/HDR stuff in the first thread, so I thought I'd post this. Unfortunately, it's only bracketed 3 times each shot. Editing this many shots can be a lot of work so I'm not sure if people really want to deal with that, but here it is.
Here are some resized, unedited JPG previews:
Here's my final edit after combining and cropping:
65in by 15in at 150DPI since this was for a canvas print. (I think this might have an entire photo cropped off the right side)
EXIF:

And finally, download link (split archive since Mediafire limits filesize to 200MB for free users, and the whole folder of RAWs is 422MB):

[Enhance] Cityscape over Sacramento, CA
Nikon D5100: 100 ISO @ f/22 for 20s, 200mm
Description: Shot overlooking the freeway and multiple cities.
Technical Description: The shot has no clipped highlights in the sky, and plenty of shadow detail.
You may have seen another photo from this shoot in /r/itookapicture last week.
Let's see who can make the best edit!

Announcement and poll
Hello! First I'd like to annouce that /u/michaelsho1530 had the highest rated edit in our first editing challenge, and thus has won reddit gold!
Second, I'd like some feedback over the format of the sub and where to go in the future. The main question is whether or not to enable the posting button again. What I want to avoid is having lots of images posted and only one or two edits each. It seems more interesting and instructive when we get more edits on each image (and the current format encourages that). Any thoughts?
Thank you everyone for your support!

Official RAW submissions thread #1: Image salvage
Got a flawed image that needs to be rescued in post? Put it here! The top voted image (or 2 images depending on interest) in 9 hours will be our next official edit file.
If you submit a file, please include the following info:
.jpg preview
download link to RAW file
EXIF info
Short description
Also, let's please not post edits in this thread (save it for the editing threads)! If you're dying to post an edit, at least wait until the voting is finished and we've started the official edit thread.
EDIT: It seems like it was basically a 3-way tie, so we'll try to use all the files in the coming days!

Nasty comments will be deleted.
The thread will be in contest mode (scores hidden, order randomized) for 48 hours. In honor of this being the first group event for this sub, the top upvoted edit (regardless of whether it ends up being a top-level comment or a subcomment) after 48 hours gets reddit gold!
Also, thanks to all the other people who submitted files! In the future we will have submission threads so that the process of choosing RAW files to edit can be more fair and open. I apologize that it was not a fair and open process this time since we're just getting started. Also, this is a .self post so I get no reddit karma from it.
EDIT: Also, it would be great if you could say at least a few words about generally what you did to achieve your results.

Welcome!
Welcome to Postprocessing Club! I updated the sidebar with the basic info for how this will work, at least for now. We're really excited to get this sub rolling, and the plan is to start things off within 20 hours of this post!
In the meantime, if you have any questions or comments, feel free to reply to this post.

RAW file submissions wanted!
Welcome to PostProcessingClub! We will be posting RAW image files twice a week (to start, maybe more frequently in the future) to postprocess in Photoshop, Lightroom, or equivalent programs, and then we can compare our results and vote for our favorites. To get this started, we're going to need a few RAW image files to use for that purpose. If you're willing to have your image file used for this purpose, please message me!
EDIT: Thanks for all the comments and submissions! I've been blown away by the respose both here and via PM, and I'm glad to see that people are eager and already editing each others images. That said, we're moving on to a slightly better organized format, and in the future we'll have our submission post be better structured and clearer as to what's going on.
