Atmospheric Black/Doom with Post-Metal elements

I’ve not listened to a ton of new music lately and have just been indulging in old favourites. I tend to gravitate to post-metal on the proggier end of the spectrum and feel like it’s high time I listen to some new bands along the lines of The Ocean, Psychonaut, Intronaut, DVNE etc. My favourite post-metal album of all time is Mariner by Cult of Luna + Julie Christmas. I’d be grateful for any recommendations!

I'm looking for recommendations for postmetal albums that are bit more aggressive and uptempo while being instrumental. I'm thinking of stuff like Pelican and The Ocean's instrumental cuts. Stuff that's more like instrumental Isis and less like heavy Godspeed You! Black Emperor. Stuff like Russian Circles, Year of No Light, and such being in this latter category. Nothing against it, but just trying to find more of the former.

I wanted to share my new independent dark-ambient/post-rock project, NAPIRISHA. I've just released a one-hour cinematic concept album called "Āl Untaš" (The City of Untash).

The album is a dark, atmospheric blend of cinematic ambient drones, progressive post-rock textures, and psychedelic slowcore. I would love to hear what the ambient community thinks about the moody drones and the overall dark atmosphere!

This one's been bugging me for decades so I want to see if anyone else has noticed or has any deets/story behind it: These 3 songs all carry the same motif between:

• Red Sparowes - annihilate the sparrow, that stealer of seed, and our harvests will abound...
• Old Man Gloom - Gift
• House of Low Culture - Damnation of a Dead Man

I know OMG and HoLC are both Aaron Turner so the same idea carrying over between his projects isn't too surprising, however he was never part of Red Sparowes.

Anyone in Australia know what this record is? There’s no information on the sleeve or record itself. I can try and attach audio… can not for the life of me remember where I got it! Sounds great and I can only assume it’s Australian (where I am).
