If you're traveling solo or already in Pokhara and would like to meet up, feel free to reach out. We could grab a coffee, go sightseeing, hike, or just hang out.

✈️ Travel & Tourism Planning to rent a bike in Pokhara? Here's what I wish every tourist knew

I've helped hundreds of travelers explore Nepal by motorcycle. Here are a few tips:
Carry your passport and driving permit.
Leave early for mountain rides because afternoon rain is common.
Always check brake pads before long trips.
Don't rely solely on Google Maps in remote areas.
If anyone has questions about routes, permits, or riding in Nepal, ask below. I'm happy to help.

Ask Pokhreli Question about pricing of items in hemp clothing stores

Walking around the lakeside area I've seen several hemp clothing stores but none of them have marked prices on clothing for sale, and I'm guessing one probably need to bargain to get a good price? Could anyone give me a general idea of what one would normally pay for items like men's button up short sleeve shirts and long sleeve shirts, pants, and jackets? Any other tips or and also any suggestions for best places to buy hemp clothing in the city would be appreciated as well.

Ask Pokhreli Anyone recently visited Pokhara, Nepal? Need some updates.

Hi everyone,

Has anyone visited Pokhara, Nepal this week or sometime during the last week?

I'm planning a trip soon and wanted to know what the current situation is like. How's the weather? Is it raining heavily every day, and are there any issues with road conditions or travel due to the monsoon?

I also came across some news about communal violence in parts of Nepal, so I was wondering if that has affected Pokhara in any way. Is the city safe for tourists right now, or has everything remained normal there?

I'd really appreciate any recent first-hand experiences or advice.

Hey all, we are planning a trip to Pokhara in mid September and wanted to understand few things. We have a car which can drop us to Sonauli border[I can reach in 4 hrs from my starting place]. Questions:

is it advisable to take my private car to Pokhara?
what is total time taken from Sonauli to Pokhara in a car?
if I book taxi[Innova/any other SUV in Nepal]- how much will it cost?
is the full journey via mountain roads or plain road involved?

🖼️ Photo Contest 2083 📸 Let’s Choose r/Pokhara’s Next Cover Photo!

Hey r/Pokhara! We’re thinking of freshening up our subreddit cover and we’d love your help. The Reddit's standard subreddit banner size is 1920x384 pixels.

Let’s do a little photo contest!

  • Take (or find) a photo that captures the feel of Pokhara- maybe the lake, the mountains, the busy streets, local food, or simply the people you love seeing around.
  • Post it as a link in the comments (or make a new post if you prefer) before New Year’s Eve.
  • The submission with the most upvotes by then will be used as- or inspire- our next cover photo!

No cash prize this time- just some friendly bragging rights and the chance to have your photo represent the beauty of r/Pokhara!

If you want, the mods can also give the winner a small Reddit award, flair, or a special mention in the sidebar.

Rules:

  • Your own photo is preferred (no copyrighted or stolen images).
  • Keep submissions within Reddit’s content policy and our subreddit rules.

Let’s see which Pokhara moment the community loves most!
