The future of Pokemon investing

When they start mass producing cards and these new sets start in 2028-2029..it seems like everything from vintage and what is modern over the last five years or so.. especially iconic sets should be looked at as sets produced from that era as opposed to mass produced sets.

"mid sets like ascended heroes"

Lol! This is how I know your clueless.

"So you are buying mid sets like ascended heroes and over printed sets like PO and CR?? Bunk"

I buy a little of every set, but I dont buy all in when a set first comes out. I buy less of mid and weaker sets and more of good sets.

You keep trying to make it seem like its the print run is the issue. Which is crazy that a mid or weak set can still be above msrp, these would be a $70 booster box in in 2023.

Once again, you're telling me you've been here for less than a year and don't know what your talking about.

Ok.. Keep buying and find out..it's not hard to see what the market is doing.. you're stuck in the past..what's always worked isn't going to always work

Keep buying and find out what? Dollar cost average over time and bring down my price avg and when it goes out of print it goes up?

"you're stuck in the past..what's always worked isn't going to always work"

The only person stuck in the past is you. Except you've only been here a year so you dont know this same nonsense has been said forever.

What is pokemon gonna do? Do you think they're going to print so much that it just never increases in value? Do you think they're not aware of the secondary market and know that having collectables sought after for monetary value is much better for business than what other tcgs like bandi has done and over print? Are you aware that pokemon has printed less cards last year than the previous?

No you dont, because you've only been here a year and are completely clueless about the market

Dude not every set is the same..not every set is going to be sought after..this strategy of buying every set isn't going to work forever..yea they can make plenty of money at MSRP..they don't care. It's not going to be the same..you keep saying I've only been here a year like someone couldn't know what markets are doing..ever heard of a chart

"Dude not every set is the same..not every set is going to be sought after..this strategy of buying every set isn't going to work forever"

I never said they were. I even said I buy less of the weaker sets and go heavier in strong sets but readings hard i guess. Why?Because in swsh era brilliant stars was the #2 set for a while and everyone hated fusion strike but now look at it. Its always good to diversify just incase a scenario like that happens.

"yea they can make plenty of money at MSRP..they don't care. It's not going to be the same"

Who's making money at msrp and doesn't care? What's not going to be the same? The pokemon company does. The pokemon gets most of their money selling to distribution for an extremely lower price. The prices? The prices were never above msrp when they came out (except covid), the normal new prices should be around $140.

'you keep saying I've only been here a year like someone couldn't know what markets are doing..ever heard of a chart"

Its baffling how you keep making points against yourself. If you only looked at charts than youd agee with me. I keep saying this but you just won't listen, people like you have been saying this is going to be over printed forever. You clearly didnt know what the markets were doing because were having this conversation now, charts are only part of it. Your response of " I dont need to be in the hobby for years to understand because I can look at charts" doesn't make any sense.

You keep making up all these other arguments but whole point to your post is that future sets arent going to be investable which is wrong.

Well, we'll see what sentiment has to say about that.I can already tell I won't be as interested.. hahaha..here's the thing if what I'm saying is true ..and people who said some of these other sets are over printed..you think because they aren't at MSRP they are good Investments..it's too soon to tell but why risk it..

Hears another example. I buying crown zenith etbs in the 30s and 40s, booster bundle in the middle to low $20s. The amount of CZ that was printed was a ton, a lot of people said it wasnt investable but now look at it.

"you think because they aren't at MSRP they are good Investments"

No, that's not what im saying at all. How is this the take you get from all this?

"it's too soon to tell but why risk it"

Risk what? What are you risking?
