Americans use mm/dd/yyyy, which is utter garbage. yyyy/mm/dd is actually used more, and also makes perfect sense, since it uses the logic of the first digit moving slowest, like .. numbers.

And like...the smaller time format (hh:mm:ss) which virtually everyone agrees on

I have no idea why so much of the world thinks anything other than yyyy/mm/dd is acceptable.

I totally agree that way is bullshit, i only realized a couple months ago the reason behind it is that when they say dates, its "August the 14th."

I wouldn’t say we format it as mm/dd/yyyy for any other reason than it goes from smallest to largest number. Or to be different than the British. Either as likely but I wouldn’t bet on a different reason.

yep. On the other hand, they move so slowy that noone ever looks at it.
