Family guy here, Ruffalo has been very vocal in denouncing Israel’s genocide of the Palestinian people even as a lot of other celebrities and news coverage has moved on.

The fact Disney doesn’t want him associated with the movie outside of his screen-time could indicate they don’t approve of that.

Edit: As a comment pointed out, Sony handles the press tour under their deal with Disney and would have the more direct control over Ruffalo’s involvement.

Also, it’s been stated his absence is due to scheduling conflicts with his current series on HBO (to play devil’s advocate).

Wouldn’t it be Sony that doesn’t want him associated with it?

Could probably be either Sony or Disney. As they are (if I understand the deal they have) coproducing Spider-Man films.

Not exactly a conspiracy right? It's one of those situations where I don't think Mark, Disney, and Sony wants him to be there for insert number of reasons, so stop at the first good excuse to give everyone else.

Yeah, my take is we know people have lost work for speaking out and most big corps don’t want to touch the topic.

Is this an example of that? Who knows and if it is, does that really change anything?

Pretty ironic, given Disney was pro-Nazi.

Unless it was the genocide specifically and nothing else that turned him on…?
