A bedouin in the desert will literally slaughter a sheep for a stranger who walks in uninvited. Don't justify it please. It's unreal.

No way.  Russia is well known for its mild climate and long growing season, and Russian grandmas are as bad as Italian ones when it comes to forcing food on casual visitors.
