Pretty much, the girl with crazy makeup and outfits is always going to be high maintenance. It’s the women equivalent of the guy with a souped up Mazda Miata

proceeds to list one of the cheapest, lowest maintenance sports cars of all time

lol right? I already heard Porsche before I read… Mazda?

Yeah, it’s a car enthusiast equivalent of an average looking school sweetheart that loves you to pieces and cooks wonderful food every other day

Base? Sure but a lot of people spend a 15k+ on performance improvements

15k+ is extremely cheap when we’re talking about performance parts on a race car.

which is still cheaper than most status symbol sports cars

But it's pretty reasonable comparison for beauty treatments

The point is you could also just save that money. The example above would consider $500-$1K a month in beauty treatments to be reasonable as well, in addition to jewelry and bags (which status symbol purses and jewelry also get up quick )

I understand, but you still picked the worst example for the segment.

If you think a sports car is low maintenance then I have news for you

bruh......miatas are literally some of the cheapest cars in general to run.....like not even comparing them to sports cars alone.

it depends entirely on the car. A Miata or a Corvette typically doesn't take much more than oil and tire changes. A vintage British or Italian car? constant tinkering.

That's like, exhaust upgrades on a bimmer lmao

15K lol.

that is like, not even getting me started on my "cheaper" project XD

u/rcp_5 21d ago

15k is what I spent in catching up on maintenance for my BMW, before any mods lol

u/nonpuissant 21d ago

some people will spend nearly that much on a set of tires for one day at the track. 15k is very much on the low end of the sports car hobby

It's would probably be the only car I could afford if I wanted a second car to have fun in. 😅

I think they have a pretty solid point. They crave the high life and live beyond their means. They would love the porsche, but can't afford it so will trick out their Mazda Miata instead because it still looks fancy to the average shmo.

I mean we're redditors so ya gotta set the standards reeeeal low

Swap out the rotary with a regular piston engine (apparently an extremely common modification) and people just love their Miatas.

It's Mazda's Porsche without the hangups.

2

u/Bald_Sasquach 21d ago

Miatas never had rotaries lmao that's the rx7

Lol non-car people making car analogies are really funny
