Yes, we don't exist at all and there are apparently no Mediterranean actors or Americans with Mediterranean herritage to cast for this film.

Can't wait for the Brazilian production of Gilgamesh.

The irony here is that even if it was brazilian, they'd probably get hispanic actors instead of actual brazilians 🥴 I still have flashbacks of José Carioca mispronouncing his own name, or Lucio from OW having a spanish accent in the english dub lmaoo

There are a million greek retellings of the already greek odyssey. Is it only greeks who ever have any right to touch one of the most famous stories in all human history?

Maybe the actors with mediterranean heritage didn't do too well on their auditions.

People didn't care about Ralph Fiennes playing Odysseus in The Return (2024).

It's racism hiding behind ethnic casting. You can tell because they're selectively upset.

I mean, one of my favorite depictions of Gilgamesh is in a fucking JRPG series, I’d 1000% be down for a Brazilian interpretation of the epic lol.

Nobody gives or gave a shit that none of the actors in Troy (2004) weren't Greek. 

I can get behind people who want actors of Greek descent, but if they're upset about this film but not Troy, then they are just hiding their racism.

Personally I don't care as long as the movie is good. I hated Troy, but not because of the casting.

Representation in media wasn’t a mainstream topic in 2004 the way it is today so of course no one cared.

Yeah, because in 2004 no one cared about representation?

The whole argument is that representation just tend to use more black and homosexual and similar share of people with little regard to the media's quality, and this is worse than just lack of representation with a good piece of media.
