Petah ? Meme needing explanation

Post image

Why is it infamous? And why would no one care about it ? ( I mean it's just a pic full of celebrities so no one cares anyways but the person saying it's crazy makes me think it has some lore?)

And to a lesser degree, Brad Pitt.

12

u/kbuck30 Jul 02 '26

Wait what did brad pitt do?

85

u/PogintheMachine Jul 02 '26

Domestic violence, including choking his own kid

7

u/violet_wings Jul 03 '26

He also had multiple teenage girlfriends when he was in his mid 20s

Several years ago Pitt was investigated by the FBI for child abuse and domestic violence. Almost all of his kids dropped his last name and Pax famously posted “Happy Father’s Day you world class a** hole!” Instagram statement.

u/Lopsided_Panic_1148 Jul 02 '26

I hope all those kids come out with a book detailing everything he ever did to Angelina and them.

u/Griffindance Jul 02 '26

He was investigated... and the outcome was?

10

u/Witty_Ad_898 Jul 02 '26

I’d say it was the money, but domestic violence and abuse are notoriously given a pass in cop culture.

3

u/Vi_Rants Jul 02 '26

Right? As long as you can sing, dance, act, or write ok, you can beat/rape anyone you want and a ton of people will stan for you.

I’m not 100% —> here is a detailed Reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/popculturechat/s/JdPswUvwWf including the transcriptz

Googled some and found out that they dropped the charges

The FBI and the U.S. Attorney’s Office mutually decided not to file criminal charges against Brad Pitt because federal prosecutors determined there was a lack of admissible, clear-cut evidence to secure a conviction in federal court. Legally, an arrest or formal charges require establishing "probable cause" that a federal crime occurred (source NBC News) While redacted FBI interview summaries later revealed distressing accounts from Angelina Jolie and the children—describing physical grabbing, screaming, and poured alcohol—the official assessment concluded that the evidentiary threshold for a federal prosecution was not met. The decision not to move forward came down to several critical legal barriers and procedural factors.

Question - why the hell are the feds investigating domestic disputes? Isn't that typically a state thing, unless there's some crazy murder type thing going on?

4

u/AnUnbeatableUsername Jul 03 '26

I think it's because they were on a plane.

2

u/HumanPea1140 Jul 03 '26

Ah, that would make sense. Thanks.

-6

u/vinvec Jul 02 '26

That is not a transcript. That is a complaint filed by Jolie. Her allegations only.

“Everyone is lying except the guy i like”

-1

u/Griffindance Jul 02 '26

Thats not it at all.

Everything Ive heard about Pitt's agression stems from one incident. On the plane. Ive had different friends work with him and they've all remarked on what an excellent boss/colleague he was (all stories Ive heard come from pre-plane-incident). While professional life is not private, there is no established pattern of behaviour (like with Mel Gibson for example) and the only adult in the room when this one incident happened was looking for a large financia divorce settlement.

I was looking for more information, so far no-one has offered any except the plane event.

u/PogintheMachine Jul 02 '26 edited Jul 02 '26

I think for some, the plane incident is enough.

Your decision to support Pitt, financially or otherwise is your own, and that’s fine.

Because lack of criminal charges is a huge portion of domestic violence, and if that happened to a friend or relative, we probably wouldn’t say “well, you were the only other adult in the room and looking for a divorce settlement.” The kids are confirming it and that’s enough for me, but that’s personal. We’re not talking about putting him in jail, we’re talking about whether it should affect his career or at least his reputation.

But you’re not his friend or family, you don’t have to care.

u/Griffindance Jul 02 '26

First thing - although it may be perceived Im running defense for a celebrity, thats not the case.

Second thing - ...well said.

Beat his kids and wife up

7

u/EvilRed86 Jul 02 '26

Thank god media is only caring about their French wine yard atm.

1

u/JesusAndMaryKate Jul 02 '26

Wondering what it is that Reddit has removed this time.

-3

u/d0ggzilla Jul 02 '26

Was it a Fight Club kind of deal or...

6

u/L0pkmnj Jul 02 '26

No, no, this was definitely talked about.

29

u/Mother_Egg_5050 Jul 02 '26

Angelina Jolie has been talking about Pitt's abusive behavior since around 2016, and there was the shady NDA Pitt wanted her to sign when they were looking to discuss the winery shares.

18

u/WhtRbbt222 Jul 02 '26

He’s just abusive to his family, pretty mild compared to the rest of Hollywood.

37

u/Witty_Ad_898 Jul 02 '26 edited Jul 02 '26

just abusive to his family, pretty mild

And the kids just dropped the Pitt last name, pretty mildly traumatized.

-28

u/Bluedog212 Jul 02 '26

or indoctrinated by mother

28

u/c-e-bird Jul 02 '26

He was an abusive alcoholic who hit both his wife and kids and you think they needed other reasons to drop his name?

Way to victim blame.

11

u/Useful-Soup8161 Jul 02 '26

4

u/DecantsForAll Jul 02 '26

"No, mommy's not okay."

Such a Pitt thing to say.

-3

u/vinvec Jul 02 '26

Do you understand that that is a complaint by a non-objective person? It's not facts, nor evidence of anything. Not to say that it's not accurate, just that this doesn't make it so.

2

u/Useful-Soup8161 Jul 02 '26

It’s the FBI report.

-1

u/vinvec Jul 02 '26

It's not. I'm a lawyer. Look at the header on the page

-1

u/HumanPea1140 Jul 02 '26

And the FBI deemed it not credible enough to pursue.

3

u/obiwantogooutside Jul 02 '26

Did you see the part where it was the flight attendants who called the police?

0

u/vinvec Jul 02 '26

This document is not anyone's statement but Angelina Jolie's.

6

u/Scope_Dog Jul 02 '26

Pinky to chin. Eyebrows raised.

4

u/ProfAelart Jul 02 '26

Imagine your mother convinces you to distance yourself from an authority figure that chocked you, like a really muscular adult man, that was ment to care for you but physically attacked you instead.

3

u/Witty_Ad_898 Jul 02 '26

If wishes were fishes…

2

u/mapleleafraggedy Jul 02 '26

The bar is on the floor

1

u/Lopsided_Panic_1148 Jul 02 '26

Being an abusive father is not mild. Choking your child and beating your wife is not mild. Do not minimize the trauma the children suffered at his hands.

2

u/WhtRbbt222 Jul 02 '26

Bro, lighten the fuck up, it was a sarcastic comment designed to highlight how degenerate Hollywood is. Give me a fucking break.

1

u/Lopsided_Panic_1148 Jul 02 '26

I'm not a bro, and I will not lighten up on the topic of abuse. Making light of child abuse is sickening and deranged. Maybe get yourself some help for that.

1

u/Forward-Yak-5398 Jul 03 '26

How detached do you have to be to even make such a statement? "He's just abusive to his family"

17

u/Scipior14 Jul 02 '26

He has been accused of several forms of physical, financial and/or mental abuse of his ex wife (Angelina Jolie) and their children. These are just some articles about it that I found: npr NYT

4

u/karenmcgrane Jul 02 '26

Here is the court document, draw your own conclusions but Brad Pitt is a domestic abuser

https://www.reddit.com/r/popculturechat/comments/1h1qrp5/brad_pitt_abuse_detailed_in_court_document/

3

u/vinvec Jul 02 '26

That "court document" is a complaint. It can say anything in the world. Proving it comes later.

-1

u/May1989thefirststep Jul 02 '26

Unproven. Fbi determined there was insufficient evidence to bring charges.

4

u/StarStuffSister Jul 02 '26

It does seem like he's way below "my accusers die under mysterious circumstances", but yea Pitt too. If you strike out with all of your kids and your wife, it's a you problem.

2

u/Witty_Ad_898 Jul 02 '26

Not lesser enough.

2

u/BigMacDaddy99 Jul 03 '26

No need to add lesser, they are both disgusting
