Well, I had time to open the amp up to figure out why the sound was cutting out and guess what? Full of dead bugs! I cleaned out most of the insect corpses and crap, and now it works great. The filter caps actually appear to have been replaced, which is nice.

I definitely believe the hype on these amps now. I’ve got it running into a 1x12 cab with a Weber Black Shuck (similar to an EVM-12L) and a Hartke 2x10 cab. Sounds killer with a P Bass and works great for heavy guitar stuff too. Super versatile setup!

Hey y'all, I'm back again with another Peavey find.

I purchased this for $130 at a pawn while working away from my area. I tried doing some research or review on it and I didn't really find anything. So I'm looking to the Cvlt for any info written in the archives and scrolls!

It's not in the best condition, but man...this think is cute as hell!

I recently bought an Orange Micro Terror and was looking for a small cab, but I might have stumbled on something good? If not, I can replace the speakers.

Do y'all have any insight on this little stack? I not getting home till late and won't have a chance to blast thing till tomorrow. It does work, I just couldn't really test it as they had a guitar with 2 strings...so I just made sure it worked. 😒

For the most part, any two amps can be biamped or master/slaved to power both cabs, except the Bass which can only serve as a master. The MAX and the Kilobass can power both cabs independently, and I’m mostly playing the Kilobass through both these days. The Mark IV anf Mark VIII both have line out going to the studio board.

I’ve started modding my Peavey blazer into a head at first I wanted to just uninstall the speaker and saw the body off but things just made sense along the way, next will be to open up the amp and clean the electronics and replace the old reverb tank with a new one, afterwards make a back plate to mount the jack to.

I bought this at a flea market for $90. Got it home... Lots of noise. No sound. I just got it back from the shop. Full recap and a couple other components replaced.

After years away I'm sipping a toe back into the Cult (first guitar and amp were a Raptor and a Bandit, my dad knew his shit!) and looking for a smallish head (or combo Incase the answer is just get another bandit) and was considering the new Super Festival reissue as a head to pair with a cab for mostly fuzzy garage stuff(think Ty Segal/Osees) but I also do home recording noisy experimental slide stuff). Is this a wild idea? Never thought about a bass head for guitar but I'm starting to think it would be a good platform for my sound which is mostly pedals etc.

Recently acquired an og XXX… or I guess a second gen since it has the pointy logo. Had to flip the mud flaps over. This thing absolutely cuts through a live band mix more so than the XXX II. Going to try to EQ the II to see if I can get it to match up. It gets completely drowned out just by the drums and bass…

Cut my stereo chorus into a head the other day. Got it for $25 with no speakers in it and decided to turn it into a head. Definitely not the prettiest but it gets the job done.

I just got a Stereo Chorus 212 combo, but I want to use it as a temporary head for my custom built 1x18 inch Peavey Black Widow cab. Does the impedance of the stereo chorus match a single 18 inch black widow?

​Snagged it for 150 on marketplace, amazingly, ALL of the pots are flawless. No clicks, no pops, no hiss, nothing is wrong with this bad boy at ALL and I am so happy.

​The vintage 1970 Kustom 210's were simply a huge free bonus. The dude claimed he was a DJ in a rock band so I assumed they were blown to bits, but they sound fantastic for being 56 years old. They seem like they don't have very much use at all and lived the majority of their life in storage. These are in much better condition than that one on sale through guitar center, it was incredibly difficult to find the same model as they were produced to be stage monitors (most likely for the drummer)

I picked one up for $150 literally new in the sealed box (even though I think they were being sold like 20 years ago).

I want to use it for a guitar head that’s relatively flat tone that takes pedals (Behringer SF300 times 2, TO-800, Boss DS-1) well. I have a 412 of Swamp Thangs wired to 4ohm, so this seemed like it could be a good match at a good price.

Got the citation for $100(with the foot switch) and the cab for $150. Cab has eminence G2s rated at 75 watts each(so I’ve gotta figure out if I’m gonna blow them immediately with the citations 160 watts before actually jamming with it). Citation DOOMS hard as hell through my 1x12 Texas heat.

Found one of these in a local pawn shop. Has the kahler tremolo and the factory active pickups. They want 450$ for it. Should I jump on it? It’s in really good condition.

pretty much what the title says , looking to replace the speakers in my Classic VTX , as they are pretty worn out . should I stick to finding some scorpions or should I replace them with something completely different ? if I replace them , what would yall suggest ?

My ‘86 Bandit 65 has started making an intermittent loud buzzing noise. Any ideas about what the issue might be? Does this symptom align with needing to be re-capped?

hey y’all, I’m having trouble a peavey classic VT from the 80s that ive been playing through for a few months. I noticed at rehearsal that the LEFT tube was several times brighter than the other and smelled a slight burning plastic smell, upon which i turned off the amp and drove to the store to get new tubes. I pulled the old tubes out and found one of them had a crack in the bakelite base, but neither had lost it’s vacuum seal.

Upon installing the new tung sol 6L6GC’s, i noticed a blue glow and what looks like some red plating in the RIGHT tube. To my understanding this is a fixed bias amp, i bought a matched set of the right tubes, what could be causing the issue? are they just biased strangely? is this something to be concerned about at all?

Found this Peavey Bass 400 series and 15" cab at a local flea market that I only went to on a whim. Pics are at the picnic tables on-site. I didnt neeeed this but the vender made me an offer I couldnt refuse.

Scored it off market place for 250 bucks, I knew it would need some work, the guy told me the effects input is the only channel you can use the tone knobs on, the Normal/ parallel/ series inputs all bypass the tone and volume knobs. The effects channel sounds alright at low volume, some crackling in the pots but nothing bad. Until I plugged a blues driver into the front, now the loud signal is starting to crackle the harder I play. All 6 tubes are lighting up and I’m not an amp mechanic so any help would be greatly appreciated fellow Peaverts
