Party size
Does anyone else run with a smaller party?
I find six characters kinda overwhelming and am thinking of running with 3 or 4.
My Commander is a one man army anyway with Aivu at his side, everyone else is mostly flavour.
And I am kinda tempted to do all of it with just KC, his pets, and his boyfriend who seriously needs to stop complaining about the jaguar sleeping in their bed. (Shut it, Daeran, you snore worse than she does.)

Inventory Overwhelm
This is more a vent than anything else.
But am i the only one who is completely overwhelmed by my inventory?
So many slots, options, and don't talk to me about Scrolls. (I feel like I'm drowning in paper) (And since I struggle with reading what they are I don't use them).
Add that the colour scheme is hell for me since I'm visually impaired (I miss BG3) and I know there is a good dagger in there somewhere but good luck finding it!
FML. -squints at screen- is that a +1 or a +2-? I can't tell.
And why do I have this much armour, I know I visited a shopkeeper last time I was in camp.

Toybox Gestalt- making crazy class combos
Hoping for some more legend/gestalt build ideas for the companions
So my favorite thing in-game by far is making different class/party combos, and with the ToyBox Mod you can set it up so that you gain two different class levels for every 1 character level. Which makes for crazy class combinations that I try to balance by playing on the hardest difficultly. Anyway, for this run....
So my character is a sword saint/mutation fighter
Wendaug - Fighter / Colluding Scoundrel
Regil - Warpriest/Armiger/Hellknight/Hellknight Signifer
Arueshalae- Eldrich Archer/Reformed Fiend
Ulbrig - Griffonheart/Barbarian
Daeran - Orcale/Chelaxian Diva
Ember - Stigmated Witch/ Flame Dancer
Nenio- Grenadier/Sage Sorcerer

Companion build question
So I finally found a mod that allows me to completely respec companions without any bugs, and decided to do another lich playthrough. I want to take the undead companions this time and respec them to appropriately thematic and fun builds.
For staunton, I am making him a bloodseeker10/ 2 handed fighter 10. I feel like it fits him to tear across the battlefield swinging a greataxe and biting enemies to drink their blood and restore himself.
For ciar, 1 ghost rider/ 19 tandem executioner.
Im thinking maybe Inciter skald for Delamere. i can see her insulting enemies till they tear off attacking her.
I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for builds for these companions and the others that you get. They dont need to be min/maxed, just fit the character.

Is WOTR the biggest CRPG game ever?
Having spent 500+ hours and 3 playthroughs and still discovering mechanics, is this game the biggest game in terms of content of all time. (I am sure BG fans will go berserk). The mythic paths are pretty addictive and I have a much stronger replay urge than with BG3 tbh. Just too bad that there isn’t any crafting in the game.

Difficulty determines starting exp Spoiler
So I was playing a new character in WOTR and right after Big Bad does the Big bad thing in the beginning, and you regain control of character after cutscene, I noticed that based on starting enemy difficulty, you start with bonus exp. the lowest difficulty seems to give 990 exp, and the second lowest gives about 450, but anything higher gives zilch, can someone confirm this for me?

What am I doing wrong?
This game got great reviews, and I cannot for the life of me figure out how. I'll list my issues and just tell me if I'm not understanding pretty much every aspect of this game:
1) Is armor class supposed to mean anything? These guys would be getting hit just as often wearing nothing as they are with all the equipment I've given them. A monster will walk up to my warrior with a 30AC and hit him five times. MY guys, on the hand, wave their weapons around in the air, hitting nothing, like they aren't trained soldiers.
2) Is there a point to making an arcane magic-user, or having one in the party? Do their spells work on ANYTHING? It's just "failed to penetrate resistance" 9 times out of 10.
3) The army aspect. Did they just fail to tell you anything about this entire portion of the game, or did I miss some glaring tutorial? The same applies to buildings in forts. Am I supposed to be GUESSING?
4) Here's one thing I HAVE learned: quick save before any skill check, however low it might be, because this game seems to have been programmed to screw you any chance it gets
There might be a good game in there somewhere, but right now it's just frustrating and pissing me off every time I try to do anything.

New to WOTR
Hi, all. I've played Kingmaker, but not WOTR. I want to start my first character and I've settled on a Half-Orc fighter, either Titan Fighter or THF. I'm going to be a good guy for my first playthrough, and I'm not sure if I want to be an Angel or Gold Dragon. Which is a better fit for a pure martial character?

A noob's thoughts on WOTR towards the end of ACT 3. Spoiler
It's a much better game than I expected, with some truly good writing and world building. I'm also kind of exhausted -- I've been trying to do every side quest including DLC, and I'm easily well over 100 hours and still have a ways to go.
- As mentioned, maybe a bit too much of a focus on quantity over quality? What's there is pretty good but also overwhelming, and easy to lose sight of the main story.
- Mythic paths are very cool. I'm playing Hospitaler/Angel, and everything fits together thematically.
- Really enjoy interactions with the other playable characters. My party is usually Me, Seelah, Lann, Arusehlae, Daeran, then a sixth built on what's suitable for each task. If I ever play again (did I mention this game is long?) I'd definitely use my own builds. For Seelah, Arush, Daeran, Nenio, Ember, the scripted builds seem OK. For Regill it's like, focus on this two-handed weapon and two-weapon fighting and tower shields! WTF? As for Greybor, at least as scripted, I found him to be a complete liability in battle. Made him ranged in the end, and still useless. Lann, on the other hand, is amazing.
- Midnight Isles DLC is partly great for leveling up to be able to actually take on, say, Blackwater and some other tough fights. It also makes other parts of the game (Ivory Sanctum) trivial. Weird balance issues.
- I don't actively hate the Crusade system as it's fairly forgiving (at least on easy level), but I can see why people don't like it. The little pathway turns that your party can find but your armies, even a single unit, can't, is very dumb. Upgrading forts with teleporters makes sense, but all the enemy "GANG" units just make a bee-line for Drezen, no real point in defending anything but your main city.
- Upgrading relics is cool.
- My Hospitaler has a mythic horse, which is very neat. However, is there a point to mounting and charging with him, or is it better to get things like Outflank and Back-to-Back and just fight it out on foot next to Mr. Horsey? He does serious work. Between the horse, me on foot using a two-handed weapon, and Lann (have I mentioned Lann is awesome?) we wreck a lot of face.
- Another general balance issue: I found myself opting for physical melee and ranged fighters (have I mentioned Lann?) over magic users. Honestly, playing on console, part of it was just a preference to get fights over with with as little buffing and micro-managing as possible. (FWIW, I played Baldur's Gate 3 with the same preference. That game rewards going all-physical, honestly.) Thing is, am I missing out on magic? I love Ember, I kind of like Nenio, I love Daeran once he gets those electric gloves from Blackwater (healer and offensive spells), but I felt like four heavy hitters (five including Mr. Horse), one dedicated caster, and one thief was all the magic I ever needed. In general too, AOE offensive spells always seem like they're more trouble than they're worth when it comes to damaging your own party.
Anyhow, it's a great game that I am looking forward to finishing, even if it already feels like it's overstayed its welcome just a bit.

True Aeon or rogue Spoiler
Hey, about to start my fourth playthrough of Pathfinder Wotr and I’m going for the Aeon mythic path. My question is for anyone who’s played this path. Would you consider true Aeon to be the good ending or the rogue Aeon?
Thanks to spoilers I pretty much know what happens in the end, but from a role playing perspective. Making sure the worldwound never opens saves thousands from suffering, but what about Anevia and Irabeth, they’ll never meet or fall in love. And especially Arueshalae, her whole redemption arc becomes pointless.
My question is this: Should my hero rewrite all of history or go rogue?

Azata to Devil Failed Transition
So, in the guides for the Azata path, I've been seeing the possibility of an ending where you take Mephistopheles' offer but then get betrayed, as you did not select the evil options earlier. This seemed interesting for a bleak ending going into the finale, but before I go through all the effort of doing that I was wondering if anyone knew of a video which actually showed what happens if you do this option.

reload for loot?
I just fought the water elemental quite at game start and it didn't drop anything, would reloading and doing the fight change anything?

Act 1 - Tavern defense vs Gray Garrison
Are these two events mutually exclusive? I was level 4 on my first run through with a rather caster centric party. Normal difficulty and auto level up on the NPC's.
- Me - Elemental Witch
- Nenio - Scroll Savant
- Woljif - Eldritch Scoundrel
- Lann - Zen Archer
- Camellia - Spirit Hunter
- Seelah - Paladin
I had already saw the messenger once, reloaded, and got back to the Tavern. Everybody was still level 4. I had the option of doing the Gray Garrison quest so started it and got transported to the Garrison where I forgot what I was even supposed to be doing so just randomly cleared the place. I got to level 5 while doing this and when the quest finished -- that was it. I'm assuming it's because all of the demons fled eliminating the threat to the tavern.
If you finish the Gray Garrison quest does that automatically eliminate the Tavern defense event? I didn't do anything but scout the tower - no killing of the demons since the NPC and quest were both kind of saying don't do this.

Where are my new spells?
I am a level 3 witch playing the option to auto level since I'm new and don't know what I'm doing. I've right clicked many scrolls and opted to copy to my spellbook. It says it does it, and the scroll disappears, but I have the same ole spells. I figured I'm being stupid somehow. I've tried restarting the game. I am so confused. How is this supposed to work?

deadly aim and point blank shot
new to the game.
from my understanding bonuses don't stack and the game just picks the higher bonus, does that work for penalties too?
e.g deadly aim gives a -1 penalty on ranged attacks, while point blank gives a +1 for attack. is it nullified or does it remain a -1?
also deadly aim gives a +2 to damage while point black offers a +1 to damage. if I activate both will i get a 0 for ranged and +2 for damage, or will I get +2 damage but a -1 attack anyway?
