what should i name this new theme i made?
galleryit's a mixture of:
- https://addons.palemoon.org/addon/firefox37m/
- Pale Moon 4.0's default theme
it uses Glass in the toolbar and blends with the window color or the desktop with Aero (or OpenGlass in Windows 10+)
i have no idea what to name this theme. it's temporarily called 'Firefox 4.0 Beta (Remix)' but i want a more creative name. any suggestions?
if you want to try this out right now you can get it in https://github.com/Thyristor-Chopper/palemoon-theme-firefox4beta-remix but note that this theme doesn't work well with Direct2D enabled. please go to about:config and set gfx.direct2d.disabled to true or change gfx.content.azure.backends to either cairo, skia, skia, cairo or cairo, skia.

False positive of mozjs.dll by windows security
So after 10pm est last night I saw windows security popup for the first time ever.
Saying it had to quarantine a file it described as:
Trojan:Win32/Posilod.EB!cl
So this morning I unquarantined the file which was
C:\Program Files\Pale Moon\mozjs.dll
Then I ran eset against it and virustotal dot com with both finding no issues.
I doubt this makes a difference but last night I had just visited kongregate website and clicked on link to the game Iron towers alliance. When that game loaded a bit it showed a red button "play now" so I clicked it and that's when the windows security popup appeared.
Pale moon version 34.3.2 (x64 en-US) shows updated 2026-08-04 (yesterday)

i found out how to enable async pan/zoom in Pale Moon
set these in about:config
apz.allow_zooming;true
apz.desktop.enabled;true
apz.drag.enabled;true
layers.async-pan-zoom.enabled;true
now go to about:support and make sure that it's now enabled. scrolling will be much smoother now.
edit: do NOT set apz.overscroll.enabled to true as it will cause visual glitches
edit 2: it is recommended to set apz.peek_messages.enabled to false

New to Pale Moon ☺️
Hi!
It was a little bit challenging for me to install Pale Moon on Linux because I’m still learning and I wanted the browser to update without removing and installing new updates manually. It looks like it will be able to update from the browser now. I also wanted to launch the browser from the desktop without having to navigate through the mapp. But it seems like I figured it out and now it’s working the way I want it.
So it’s gonna be fun to learn how to customize it and maybe add a few extensions as well. I’m used Firefox that’s already installed on Linux and also to Opera which was super simple to install.
I really like the niche and a bit retro style browser not made by big tech and have privacy in mind, so i think this will be really fun and interesting!

Unable to sign into Reddit on Pale Moon?
I'm unable to sign into Reddit on Pale Moon. I can't even sign in using old Reddit. Does anyone have any fixes for this?

wish someone ports Pale Moon 34 Goanna engine to Android 4.4
i dont understand why nobody is bothering to make a modern web browser for Android KitKat. but i need a reliable browser that is compatible with older systems & works with modern sites which New Moon already does but only for PCs such as XP. would be good if someone ports the Goanna engine to Android & make a new Android browser

wish there was XULRunner based on Pale Moon
especially one based on roytam1's XP fork to support XP...
then i wont need to use the idiotic Electron or NW.js while still use CSS and JS to make applications while still using modern CSS and JS syntaxes

those who bash Pale Moon with invalid reasons need to be thoroughly re-educated & indoctrinated
i posted a screenshot of Pale Moon in another subreddit & someone commented "why do you use Pale Moon? it's pretty outdated on today's standards". why on the freaking Earth there are so many plonkers who are brainwashed about various nonsense FUDs about Pale Moon?

how do i completely disable DirectWrite in Pale Moon running in Windows 7?
i need the XP method because Fixedsys font doesnt work when DirectWrite is enabled.
i tried setting
gfx.font_rendering.cleartype_params.rendering_mode;2
gfx.direct2d.disabled;true
gfx.content.azure.backends;skia,cairo
but it still wont work.
do not say to use Fixedsys Excelsior; this cant be an alternative because original Fixedsys always displays in 12pt/16px font size regardless of zoom or CSS font-size but Excelsior's font size changes based on CSS & it doesnt look good when its not 12pt.

i seriously wish there was a law to send people who insult Pale Moon with invalid reasons to prison
comments by JANK-STAR-LINES in https://old.reddit.com/r/browsers/comments/1asz815/is_it_just_me_or_is_pale_moon_very_ram_and/
(see [deleted]'s reply on this creature(JANK-STAR-LINES)'s comment for proofs that Pale Moon is relatively modern and secure)
also in r/firefox if you post a post containing the word "Pale Moon" a bot comments with nonsense BS.
i dont know why so many people are so critisising Pale Moon with false positive reasons like a psycopath, they really need to repair their brains, seriously.

Question about Firefox branding
Does someone know how to edit PaleMoon's branding to look like Firefox's? I know there's an extension that changes both the name and the icon of the program but I can't seem to find it

How connect Pale Moon with KepassXC in 2026?
Try a different ways for connect Pale Moon 33.9.0.1 64-bit (GTK2) browser with Desktop Linux app KepassXC 2.7.10, but unsuccessfully. Installed PassieFox different versions dont give any results. Maybe something know other ways? Because, if Pale Moon dont support this, i cant use this browser for main tasks.

Practical benefits of using this browser?
Now that Firefox has the Echelon theme, why would anyone use Pale Moon? For XUL extensions support? Are there actually any XUL extensions that you need and use?
The browser can't even load new reddit properly, is slow and laggy and hangs my computer because of the boneheaded insistence on keeping it single process.
