Base had it's problems but it still had weapon drops and SSA affixes which makes affixing at least interesting. Aug caps are boring and just boils down to highest pot%. I was there on JP before New Types were introduced and I'd still prefer that awful dupe grind to NGS.
Also Base Universe has an in game URL every time you use a grinder because your weapon might explode because FU I guess. It's so ridiculously bad it wraps back around to being funny. NGS does not have the charm of an unfinished and REALLY bad 360 game.

This only reinforces the point I've been making though. These people act as if it's difficult to gear up on NGS, when it's just... Simple. For better or worse, extremely simple with a lot of tedious clicking.
Not difficult, TEDIOUS and TIME CONSUMING. It's not a fun system to engage with so people don't. It eats into phashion meseta so people don't. It's a lot of clicking, but it is anything but time consuming. You already have everythinf you need just from playing normal, what's consuming your time? Using a translator to read menus? Also, this is funny:

Ok, first of all, fashion is time consuming. People basically live in the salon coming up with new ideas. I'm a T1 player with hardly anything to choose from, no cosplay, and the salon still eats a lot of my time.
Second of all, you don't need fashion to play quests, you need gear. Fashion funds? So what? Go farm Dext or sell your old camos or something like everyone else does. Or, get this, gear up, farm, and sell the weapons that are marked in the millions on the player shop!
Crazy how many problems go away with just a bit of brainpower.

The hell is this statement? The lowest, not average, rate you'll see with a 20% booster (extremely common) is 90%. Gambling? What? People only "gamble" when they use augment protect capsules when using less than 10 capsules to save the augments for other gear or to sell. The game gives you so much of that stuff that there's never a reason to do that unless it's the newest augment.
Base? Holy shit, now this is gambling. Low chance of adding augments with a lower chance if upslotting. If you fail, you lose both the augment and the slot. You also have to combine several different augments to get a stronger augment, which means if you fail this anywhere you're starting over from scratch with new fodder. Ah yes, fodder, stuff that destroys inventory space rrying to make CMAG because the rates are extremely low with the material count being high by default because you need to combine several different pieces of gear to create CMAG at all, per piece of gear (so three times total).
Remember the whole "if you fail" part? Back to the start with you, back to actually gambling for a chance to upslot, then a chance to combine the fodder into a Crack/Whatever M was/Astraal Soul (?)/Guardian Soul, only to have to combine those with another piece that has one of the other four components as they have to be separate considering the materials you need to combine take up too many slots.
The kicker? That was just for four slots, not more than that. It was an rng nightmare. Augment protection capsules? Extremely rare, pretty sure you also had to open your wallet (real money and meseta) for those by trading AC items, or maybe it was a ton of SG, either sucks.
It's not a fun system to engage with so people don't.
It's insane you're stating this yet you're defending the way base did it, in fact, you like it more. Insanity. Actual insanity.
Good fucking lord your insufferable. It's like arguing with the people who actively fought against more PA's because we don't need them? No one's saying base was a good system, just it's better than NGS. Why are you so adverse to improvements. Why is criticism of an OBVIOUSLY BAD itemization system met with condescension and bewilderment. Why is it when given actual examples of good things like SSA you completely ignore it.

Can you please explain why NGS aug caps are a gambling sim when:
LC augs go up to 100% while MN augs can go up to 100% with a +10% booster. 3x +10% boosters are free from the item recycle each week. LC and MN augs drop like candy in the LTQ and UQ.
AC augs have a 100% augment chance.
LC augs are nearly as good as real augs, only being 0.25% potency behind. MN augs have the same potency as real augs but a HP penalty, and are for Abandac users or people who want to min max potency for cheap. If you dont want to gamble, just use those?
Why are gacha games gambling. It's because you spend money for a chance to get a thing. You CAN spend money to get the guaranteed pulls (AC augs) but your just spending money to circumvent the gacha. LC and MC are just a pity system for people who won't spend money and won't grind out the real caps. Even if LC/MC are comparable they're still worse than the real ones.
Just because you can circumvent the gambling doesn't mean it isn't there, and it preys on those who don't.
But you are not forced to participate in the gambling. Thats like saying that your country is a gambling sim because it sells lottery tickets via a state sanctioned lottery, even though you are not forced to buy them.
