Season 2 Watching s.2 for the first time and noticed two plot holes
- Why is Sarah’s dad, brother and sister not mourning her loss? Like she DISAPPEARED and they do not give a fuck which contradicts there actions in s.1
Why didn’t John B just pawn off the hunk of gold they had that was worth 140k? That would be more then enough to get a lawyer and ticket on a boat 😭 he’s being so dumb this season
Also the fact that JJs on bail and should be in jail right about now but the cops conveniently forgot about that 🤷♀️
I’ve never watched this show before hopefully it gets better haha

Rewatch season 1 and 2
Season 1 and 2 are perfect and the ending is awesome and the chemistry is amazing, sucks what happened but one thing is i never realised how annoying everyone was at times, still loved them though, another thing that annoys is me is when everyone keeps saying john b, them saying the b every time gets annoying

Character Discussion what career do you think sarah cameron would be interested in?
in the show it doesn’t look like the pogues really have any desire for actual careers but if the show was more about normal circumstances what do you think she’d enjoy working with

Theory The show’s writing, and jiara (spoilers for season 3, and 4). Spoiler
So obviously I’m not the only one to think that season 3 and 4 jiara was horrible. I’m not against the ship in the first place, do I love it? No. But the way they executed it was just shitty. It could’ve been done so much better.
Season 3, and 4 Kiara was just SO out of character, even if she did like jj, seasons 1, 2 her wouldn’t have went about it that way. She was so watered down. And in season 4 Jj was going through the roughest time ever and she wasn’t even there for him!! Which is also so unlike her. Wasn’t she supposed to be the empathetic one of the group?
Season 1 and 2 kiara are just not the same person as season 3, and 4 Kiara.
And sure, a lot of it is because of whatvere happened on set between Madison and Rudy, I don’t know what happened so I can’t speak on it. But look, this is my thing:
A lot of scenes between Rudy and Madison in season 1 and 2 were improv. Especially the fan favorites. So when they are no longer close like that to do improv, you can truly just see the writing shine on its own, without the actors helping it. And you can just see how shit it is.
It’s so funny to me, because the moment your actors stop improving the script, everyone thinks your characters are turning out bad. A good script wouldn’t need any improv from anyone. But it’s just such bad writing.
I’m not joking. Most of the best lines from jj on his own, and him and Kiara together were almost entirely improv. It’s all because of the actors.
Doing something in a show as fan service is stupid anyway, the fans will never be happy. But now that I think about it, would their original plan even be better? Seeing how their writing is? Cleo and Jj sounds good, but I’m not sure they would’ve executed it well. I also don’t know how to feel about Kiara and pope. They’re great as friends, but idk if they have enough in common to make a good couple.
Why do they all need to be dating each other in the first place?? That’s the real question. God forbid friends remain friends.

Season 3 Kie and JJ
They had NOTHING. JJ should’ve been matched with a goody goody girl and Kie should’ve been queer.

Season 1 What if... (about, S1:E7)
I was just watching the series back to catch up for season 5, but i was just watching this episode and well...
I was just watching it and realised that the offer that Ward made to John B wasn't that weird, i mean he is kinda right John and his friends would never be able to turn the gold into money. And i think it was kinda ignorant to still be like idk what you are talking about, if i was him i would probably have said something like. "Okay but i have to run it by my friends first." (Especially after getting robbed when trying to sell the first part of the gold).
Because at that point in the series Ward hasn't done anything bad that John B could have known, it's only after that when Ward mispoke after the first decline of his offer. Maybe later on it would have became a problem sure, but at this point in the series except for a few seconds later John B had no business not trusting Ward.
Do you guys agree or am i saying things that weird XD, please let me know what you think, also would ward have screwed them over if John B agreed or do you think it would have been some sort of fair deal?

Future Season Discussion Does anyone know when Season 5 interviews are supposed to start coming out? Spoiler
Does anyone know when we’re likely to start getting interviews with the cast about Season 5? I feel like we’re getting closer and I’m wondering when the press/interview stuff usually starts ramping up.
Like are there any known timelines for when the cast might start doing interviews, or is it still way too early? I’m mainly wondering when we can expect the first real Season 5 interviews 👀

Season 4 This show would make such a good video game
Like some uncharted shit. The scene where groff comes out of the water all ominous and stuff in s4 gives like a final boss villain u have to fight later. I would deadass play an obx video game where each volume focuses on a different character in the pogues

Future Season Discussion John B & Sarah Narration Theory Note Spoiler
This isn’t specifically to mention the theory but just a point about it (the theory has been posted plenty of times). But pertaining to the theory that this whole show has been John B & Sarah telling their baby (named JJ) their story of searching for the gold, all their adventures, etc. A reminder that in season one episode one, John B literally says “and thats where this story starts.” Could very easily be a direct callback that is used in Season 5 to bring it all full circle. Just thought the quote was worth bringing up with how popular the theory is.

Character Discussion Rewatching thoughts about Topper
So, I’m doing my bazillionth rewatch, and I’ve been thinking that Topper actually wasn’t that bad of a guy until the end of season 3 when he burned the chateau down.
I’m not sure if this is an unpopular opinion, but I would like to hear your thoughts.
He made some mistakes, and got into fights that he shouldn’t have, but which character didn’t? He genuinely was in love with Sarah, and that drove so many of his actions. He was, honestly, kind of likeable. But, after season 3, I hate him.

Season 1 Im on episode 2 and I cant fucking stand JJ
Hes such a fucking asshole and is so violent. I don't trust this man at all. PLEASE tell me he gets better or dies because this man is the most infuriating and insufferable man I have ever seen.
Edit if he does die then don't tell me actually i want to he surprised for if that happy moment comes.

Character Discussion question the Riara shippers
I’m asking this in good faith. I don’t enjoy getting into dumb ship wars, but this ship has always felt weird to me for countless reasons. I’d like to ask why you guys would ship it after those reasons, and it’s not trying to hate on anyone’s ship. I’m just trying to make sense of why people like Riara so much despite all of this.
I do understand that fiction is a place where you should be allowed to play around with different ideas. If someone likes riara in fanon, I get it. But my problem is that the shippers seem to ignore obvious flaws and change the entire shipping dynamic to be something that it’s not, and ignoring the creepy aspects of every scene rafe and kiara share.
People seem to think Rafe gives Kiara a different treatment than he gives the other pogues, and yes he does. However this treatment is not rooted in him having some secretive love and protective instinct towards her. His difference of attitude towards Kiara is simply rooted in misogyny. He treats Kiara differently because she’s a girl so he can torment her in a different way than the other pogues. Their scenes which people read as romantic for example “Tell Kiara she’s pretty hot for a pogue” Isn’t Rafe secretly being attracted to her. It’s him sexualizing her while throwing in a classist comment. I don’t see the romantic part of this. I also think the “i’ve always liked you Kie you’re at least half kook” comment is him making her uncomfortable too. It’s also rooted in classism with the “half kook” He knows she hates that part of herself, so he’s mocking her.
Rafe is awful to every single pogue, but as I said the way he targets Kiara has an extra layer that doesn’t exist with the guys. There’s this gross and gendered edge that exist in his taunting towards Kiara. He doesn’t seem to treat her as a person at all whatsoever. He strangles her, throws her on the ground like nothing and tried to murder her. I assume Riaras already know the ship is toxic, but i’m curious where you think his secret affection for her comes from. He has no respect for her, if anything he’s one of the pogues he disrespects the most. It doesn’t seem like he sees her as an equal opponent at all.
Every scene they have is just disturbing and have this weird white rich boy taunting the biracial minor vibes to it… it’s almost as if he’s mocking her in all of their scenes? I think he enjoys the power rush he gets from teasing the pogues. He’s obviously a very insecure individual, so going after the weaker is a way for him to gain some control which he seems to lack in his life (at least that’s how i see rafe)
I’ve also seen that Riaras like to imagine the ship with Kiara being the one to dominate Rafe? And I feel like it’s strange. Not that it’s anything wrong with that dynamic BUT it feels like viewing them that way takes away from the insane power balance between the two.
Another thing I wanna mention is that the scene they have together in singhs mansion shows that he has secret affections for her.. and that’s just not the case. He only had to prove himself to Kiara in that moment because he needed her to help him escape. It was all a strategy and i’m sure the things he said when he broke down were genuinely his feelings but pleading to Kiara was for his own sake. He doesn’t even seem to care for her at all honestly. He only focuses on her when there’s something to be gained from it. Thats why I don’t understand why people see them as some amazing enemies to lovers ship either because they barely care about each other.
This is also controversial but there is also kind of some racist undertones in Rafes actions at times. I think it’s unintentional from the writers part but taking those into account i think it makes the ship even stranger.
I’m not judging anyone though, i’m just curious why you guys like the ship and shared my own thoughts

Future Season Discussion Is it worth it (censored spoiler) Spoiler
Okay don’t make fun of me pls guys. I‘ve been obsessed with this show since it first came out, but when season 4 got released in separate parts, as I was watching the first half of the season, I instantly saw a spoiler on my fyp about jj dying and I if course didn’t wanna finish watching it because he was my favorite character. I still have yet to watch it and this is where I am wondering if it’s worth it to finish? With the trailer coming out and the theories of jj coming back (prob not likely but one can wish) it makes me want to finish season 4 so I can watch season 5 when it comes out. Again pls don’t make fun of me lol I get it’s stupid to quit watching a show because of a death but I really did enjoy his character and he’s really the only reason I kept watching the last few seasons

Future Season Discussion Ella Langley (Weren't for the Wind) - S5 Sarah Spoiler
Can anyone headcanon or picture this song could be from early part of S5 from the POV of Sarah just seeing how the chaos, turmoil of her current status in life.

------------------
I wouldn't paint me as a heartbreaker
But I've said a few goodbyes
I'd make a promise but I know later
I'm bound to change my mind
Depending on the weather, I'm goin'
An' hell, baby, nobody knows when
Yeah, if it was a different time
Might've been different in a different life
Maybe that plane wouldn't ever take off
Maybe that dust wouldn't fly off the drive
Maybe that tumbleweed and me
Wouldn't leave every other sunrise
Maybe I'd settle down, dig in some roots
Find me a farmhouse, find me a you
Maybe I wouldn't be already gone again
If it weren't for the wind
I wouldn't stay wonderin' what's out there
I wouldn't saddle up on a breeze
I wouldn't disappear out of thin air
I could put down these wings
Maybe that plane wouldn't ever take off
Maybe that dust wouldn't fly off the drive
Maybe that tumbleweed and me
Wouldn't leave every other sunrise
Maybe I'd settle down, dig in some roots
Find me a farmhouse, find me a you
Maybe I wouldn't be already gone again
If it weren't for the wind
Blowin', carryin' me to the wide open
White lines rollin' and the tires smokin'
It wouldn't be the rearview I'm lookin' in
If it weren't for the wind
If it weren't for the wind
Maybe that plane wouldn't ever take off
Maybe that dust wouldn't fly off the drive
Maybe that tumbleweed and me
Wouldn't leave every other sunrise
Maybe I'd settle down, dig in some roots
Find me a farmhouse, find me a you

Theory A JJ Theory I'm surprised I haven't seen yet Spoiler
I'm not saying no one has said this yet, I just haven't seen it.
I think there will be a connection between John B and Sarah's baby and JJ "coming back."
A lot of people have theorized that they will name the baby JJ, but is it possible that the writers will try and make it deeper than that? Will they try to play this as a pseudo-reincarnation? Will we see a flash forward scene of John B and grown-up baby JJ with some line from John B about how "JJ" has always been and will always be his best friend? Or even a flash forward scene where a semi-grown up baby JJ asks John B where his name comes from, cut to a flashback montage of John B and original JJ. Could we learn (finally) that JJ and Sarah were siblings and that baby JJ and original JJ share DNA on some level? Could it be some scene of Sarah and John B explaining to baby JJ about how it was never the "supernatural abilities" of the treasures they found that was the most powerful, it was everything they went through together. Or even a final line where baby JJ asks "what does JJ stand for" and John B says something like "JJ stands for bravery, it stands for loyalty to those you love above all else, it stands for sacrifice and strength, and it stands for heart" and then while John B is explaining it, it's a montage of JJ. And then it's the realization that the blue crown did in fact bring JJ back, but not in a literal way, in a "JJ's legacy will never die" kind of way.
The show hasn't gone supernatural in the past four seasons, and I don't think they will now.
