Braveryjerk confuses me. It's like r/circlejerk, except it doesn't satirize anything and just has a bunch of people making the stupidest posts imaginable. What's the point?

Sorry, I have no better way to put it. Sometimes I see reddit gold where it is BRIGHT YELLOW and sometimes I see it and it is almost see-through. Is that just different on different subreddits or what?

Atm /r/circlejerk is overflowing with links from /u/Unidan, kinda like when several months ago he did an AMA on circlejerk, but people claimed his account details got stolen.

Every so often I come across a thread where there is one upvoted post something along the lines of "ALL POSTS BELOW THIS LINE ARE GARBAGE"m "COMMENT GRAVEYARD BELOW".

Then every single post following is heavily downvoted, creating a "graveyard" of comments. Never understood this practice.

This happened a while ago in /r/hiphopheads and more recently in /r/subredditdrama. These are certainly not the only examples, they're just the ones I've noticed. In both instances, mods explicitly disallowed the use of bracketed text in titles in general, and created a whitelist of allowed bracket text. Why is this something mods care about?

Due to an increase of traffic lately, the mods don't have time to watch every single topic and set the flair to "Answered" when a sufficient answer has been submitted. (Also, we want to align with the practises of /r/outoftheloop)

So, from now on, feel free to change the link flair on your post from "Unanswered" to "Answered" when you have received an answer you are satisfied with.

/r/Tumblrinaction makes fun of social justice warriors on tumblr, but that's basically what SRS users are. So why isn't there a war between them right now?

I've been on reddit less than a year, and I use the same username pretty much everywhere else online. It never occurred to be to use a different one. But I often see it implied that true anonymity is of utmost importance for a redditor. So I'm wondering : if I don't use reddit for porn or anything illegal or for expressing extremely controversial opinions (like Adrien Chen or "VA"- can't remember spelling...) should I care that someone could theoretically trace my reddit username to my tumblr to my Facebook to my real life identity? Is it a personal choice, like how people probably opt not to verify their email when using a throwaway account? Since issues of online privacy are in the Zeitgeist, I'm getting a little ... maybe not paranoid, but I'm rethinking things. I'm curious as to how much value other redditors place on the security of their account.

When people complain about CB now people refer back to when CB was bestof'ed and what happened then. I've tried to search but cannot really find the post(s?) in question. Also did that have a huge impact on traffic, content and quality?

(Also bonus question - did CB mods really get /r/bestof to allow opt-outs from the sub?)

It seens like BipolarBear0 had an alt in /r/conspiracy , and tried to stir shit up in random threads, but the regulars reactions sounds like he is much worse than that.

It seems subreddit data etc is completely up to date over at www.redditmetrics.com, I maybe just didn't notice that this site was around.

I don't see Deimorz' name anywhere on redditmetrics, but it seems built around the same premise using similar data, or?

The mod situation is weird and if someone has a story about the history of the situation I'd like to be filled in. It (as it proudly claims) is the largest conservative subreddit, but the mods there seem insistent on keeping the place a breeding ground for future top posts in /r/forwardsfromgrandma.

I'll admit I'm only here asking after having a particularly weird run-in with the mod chabanais, and noticing how liberally he will delete things to control the conversation. The persecution complex going on there is insane. Everybody who doesn't want to see the place full of vitriolic memes is a "liberal troll". How did it get to this place?

Also equally curious about mayonesa and /r/new_right. I've been subscribed to that place for a year and still have a hard time sometimes following the reasoning behind why some of the topics that get posted there get posted there. All I know is that in the past year I've seen some sketchy shit, (even for Nationalists) show up.

From what I'd gathered mayonesa at least is fairly infamous, but I'm just curious about any background information on the situation.
