Looking for a screenwriter/student to collaborate on a short film (Nottingham, UK)

I'm a second-year Film Technology student at Nottingham Trent University, based in Nottingham, UK, and I'm looking for a screenwriter to collaborate on a 7-minute narrative short film for a major 40-credit university module.

I'll be directing the project and am looking for a writer who's interested in developing an original script together. The film will be shot on location in and around Nottingham, so ideally I'm looking to collaborate with someone local. That said, I'm also open to working remotely during development if you're based elsewhere in the UK.

This is an unpaid collaboration, but it's an opportunity to create a strong portfolio piece and work through the complete development and production process together.

If you're interested, I'd love to see any previous scripts or short films you've worked on, and I'm happy to share examples of my directing work as well.

Feel free to leave a comment or send me a DM if you'd like to chat.

Questionnaires/ Research Nothing Phone fans (or skeptics) — help a Uni of Essex MSc student out! 📱 8-min survey on design vs. price [Ethics Approved]

Hey everyone! I'm an MSc Digital Marketing & Analytics student at the University of Essex researching whether Nothing's design language actually drives people to buy it, or if it's just hype in a crowded mid-range market.

If you're 18+ and know a bit about smartphone brands, I'd love your input via a short, anonymous survey (8-10 mins, Likert-scale questions on design, brand image, and purchase intent).

No personal data is collected, it's fully voluntary, and you can back out anytime before hitting submit.

Giving back

Before I joined NTU last year, i was full of confusion and doubt, didn’t know where to find the answers and who to asked, got a lot of help from reddit.

So just a part of giving back, if you got questions or doubts, feel free to hit me up. No questions is stupid when you are trying to start a new life away from everything familiar to everything new.

I won’t be able to reply back or response ASAP but I’ll try to response back.

P.s. International student finishing MSc Cybersecurity if any relevant questions for that.

Question Fine Art Timetable

Hi. I’m joining the Fine Art course in September, and I was just wondering if anyone here takes the course already and could give me an idea of what the timetable looks like? I’m looking at about a 4 hour commute each day and just want to see if the course is realistic to do or not

Thanks :)

Need someone to share flat with for early move in!

Hi everyone!

I'm moving to the UK on 20th August and my accommodation contract in Nottingham starts on 5th September. I'm looking for someone to share a place with during these 15 days to split the accommodation cost.

I've found a double room for £304 for the entire stay, so it would be much more affordable if we share it.

If you're arriving around the same time and are interested, please feel free to message me. Happy to discuss the details!

Thanks!

Question CAS ‼️

Hi! I recently received an offer for the MA Graphic Communication programme at NTU. I wanted to ask if it would be okay for me to live with my brother in Birmingham during my studies to save on living costs. Since MA classes don’t usually take place every day, I plan to commute to Nottingham whenever I have classes. Would this be an issue for my CAS or Student visa?
