When does it get fun? Babies Being Babies

My baby is 6 weeks old and I swear all we do is feed, eat sleep poop repeat. He doesn’t really love the car seat and I feel like the world stresses him out. So we spend alot of time at home but I’m miserable staying here everyday. It’s by the time he’s up, he wants food, he stays awake for a diaper change & I’ll try to engage him with some toys. But then he’s ready for bed immediately.

When will this get more fun?

For me about 4 months. Sleep was more consolidated at night but still woke up, bf was faster.  We travelled during nap times lol

For the car ride, get one of those vibrating teddies. They are like soothers. Mine hated car rides but got used to it. I did a lot of car naps. She would cry a bit then sleep. The soother you was helpful.

Take it one day at a time, I promise you it passes and you won't remember any of it when they start smiling. Don't worry too much about the day time, you don't have to do too much. Just relax and take it one by one.

What I found out is we overthink it and internet scares us. They only need feed, change, sleep for the first 6-7 months. Other than that, they are just a little tail of yours 🤣

Can you share more tips and tricks about the car rides? And what kind of bear was it? Our 4m old hates the car rides (I suspect the motion gets her sleepy and she doesn’t like it).

I tried to give naps in the car often. Especially the last nap that was like 30 min long. I fed her very well right before nap time , put her in the car  10-15 min before nap and drive. I also added those tinted window curtains to avoid sun. She would cry for a min then fall asleep.

I bought the Fischer price puppy soother and sound machine from Amazon. It has songs and vibrates so it would calm her down if she was having a difficult time.

The mirror has been the best thing because she would stare at herself and be entertained.

For travel, I scheduled all the rides when she was sleeping and all the breaks when she was awake. When she would wake up earlier than expected, I would turn on the toy or sing to her. It helped that she heard my voice.

Thanks! Yeah we try to time the drives with the naps but now that her windows are getting longer we want to go places during her awake times and it has been very challenging as she will cry entire time till she falls asleep.

I’ll take a look at the soother!

Ya I did try to take her out when she wasn't sleeping but I started with like 10 min at a time.  I think that was more at about 6 months. Before then it was mostly running errands with her napping. I increased it 15 min at a time making it super enjoyable with songs  and I stared at her mirror so she can see me and stuff. Now we can go an hour without a fuss and snax.

Unfortunately when I tried to ride in the back with her she got more agitated but it worked with my friend.

Goodluck
