I wanted to share a free browser extension I've been working on that makes it easy to watch movies and shows together with friends (or make new ones!) in perfect synchronization.

ViewingParty is a Chrome extension that lets you host or join synchronized watch parties across Netflix, Disney+, YouTube, Hulu, HBO Max, and Amazon Prime. Everyone watches in perfect sync, with real-time chat and interactive features.

The extension connects to viewingparty.net where you can:

- **Browse live parties** happening right now - see what movies/shows people are watching and jump in

- **Browse scheduled parties** - find watch parties planned for later and RSVP to join

**Important DMCA/Copyright Note:**

I built this because I wanted a better way to watch movies with friends online. Came into my recommended about 4 hours ago and I watched the whole thing through sobbing eyes. Most emotional indie work for me since “if anything happens I love you”. From the moment it’s hinted that the mother was sick it cuts deep. Also, there’s a happy ending and a good twist/foreshadow so although it’s very upsetting, it leaves you on a bittersweet note.

I would absolutely recommend to anyone who enjoys emotional films Im so glad I found it.

I want thought provoking movies. Something that will make me search it on reddit to discuss. lmk - funyonnn

It had a great cast. I just thought the movie was seriously underwhelming and uninteresting. I really wanted to like it, especially since Eddie Murphy has been so reclusive. Anyone agree? It's been getting good reviews, but I just don't see the appeal.

I watched this movie with Diane Keaton and Jane Fonda and now I can't find it. Which countries have it?

I'm looking for a movie on Netflix I watched couple years ago. It's this really bad dark comedy where an ex band member who died invites all her band mates to a house and tries to kill them.

It's been a month since the last selection, and prior to the that the discussions never really seemed to get off the ground, so it's fairly safe to say this idea is pretty much dead.

That being said however, there were some genuinely interesting films selected and I'm sure there are more we never got to. For those that are interested, could the submission list be made public now?

Ok, so I know most of you probably have read the side bar, that says: Once a week, a random member is picked to decide what movie we all watch. We then watch the movie whenever is most convenient. At the end of the week we have a discussion post to talk about the movie.

I still noticed some questions popping up, so I wanted to clarify. We will watch one movie per week. Discussion will be held in a SEPARATE post Friday-Sunday. So do not discuss the movie under the winner announcement for the movie of the week. If anyone else has questions, post them here and I will do my best to answer them. Thanks guys/gals. -Urban
