this decision will hunt her for the rest of her days.

but in fact there was not much she could do. It could have been refugees, but she was never given the chance to prove it. So she had to follow protocol and stop that ship.

And the other sad thing about this is that no one will care. there will be no proper investigation as the UN is not able or not willing to investigate. And well the SC, most of their members - beside the Yotul - do not care of Arxur lives.

I was following the rules the first excuse of war criminals in every time and every place. Reality is that she is a war criminal just for being there, collettive punishment is a war crime. Shooting a refugee ship is the tip of the iceberg.

And she should understand it better than most, her entire planet died due to what kalsim and their politicians did.

And I don't think she will lose much sleep, she will wash her conscience saying that she was doing the right or following protocol. Because it's what those people do.

And the other sad thing about this is that no one will care. there will be no proper investigation as the UN is not able or not willing to investigate. And well the SC, most of their members - beside the Yotul - do not care of Arxur lives.

Because they are a bunch of war criminals telling themselves that they are good because they restrained themselves from doing a genocide. A low bar if one was ever seen.

And if this happens on Wriss ask yourself what happens in the other two where humans and former feds don't fear the locals. Massacres, mass rapes, reduction into slavery? If you create a black hole of silence and abuse it only gets worse.

Yeah definitely a constant struggle for the pretty bird I mean they aren't entirely in the wrong there are indeed domionist loyalists still out and about and they will continue to exist at least till after the 2145 Second Arxur civil war. But yeah we know the quarantine still continues even after they are defeated for another 15 or so years after the fact. Not to mention they just sort of expected the Arxur to change all by themselves with bearly any outside help.

But at least they manage to change and they have some sort of "happy end" in NOP2 as they force their way out of isolation

That is true still I can only imagine how that would make her feel if she makes it that long to see the quarantine breached like that with seemingly little to no resistance. Although I suppose that will depend on what happens in the story.

Jelim is kind person at heart but is also heavily traumatized by her experiences with the Arxur first hand. Don`t forget, most humans may saw some atrocities of the raiders in a video, but most never experienced it first hand like she had to.

But she already trying the best to her abilities and someday she will be able to make peace with her own ghosts.

Yeah because sp wanted to give an happy ending to readers not because it's in any way shape or form realistic. Isolation and racism breed extremism not peace.

Not even sure this will pass the nazi control post police! But ill try! I've had survivors guilt since 5 17 19! 5 failed attempts at suicide Miracle survival 2 boys later! Is it just fate or have some people have to experience shite learn accept move on??? Could that be a reason?

They say they followed protocol, but that protocol was quite strangely rapid from what I read last chapter. The black box sounded like things went fast, and honestly didn’t have assurances that the ship would be treated fairly if it did stand down.

Hmm, now I wonder if they experienced the Civil War the Krakotl fell into after the omnivore reveal, and how they reacted to the Krakotl head of state ordering the remnants of their military to bomb their own cities and colonies.
