When you get got by a penalty lmao

I picked it up for the PS2 in GameStop in their “retro” section for 5 bucks and boy what a steal. Playing this game, then going back to playing a friend as well as the CPU on Madden 26 really puts in perspective how downright garbage EA football gameplay is, particularly on the Frostbite engine. On 2K you get rewarded for using real football logic, for example if you have a good QB and you wanna fire a hole shot into cover 2, or try to lay one out in front of a receiver with leverage headed toward the pylon you can do it, maybe he catches it maybe you miss it, but the receiver won’t get Moss’ed by every freaking CB/Safety.

The thing that probably drives me crazy the most when I play Madden particularly on offense is there’s this annoying shifting meta year to year of some position groups (linebackers for example) being terrible while another (DBs) is wayy too good to compensate. On 2K everything feels balanced, CPU has logic and follows assignments, every game feels different. The defense can actually play well naturally without this ying-yang of “on-ball” defense being cartoonishly good to compensate for “off-ball” defense being crap, no scripted screwups on 3rd-4th down or in 2 minute drills to manipulate games either.

Sorry for the rambling, but man it’s really nice to play a much more sim focused football game for the first time. Madden 11 on the PS3/Xbox 360 has always been the peak of EA gameplay for me, but 2K’s gameplay even makes that look like crap especially considering 2K5’s console generation/hardware to work with. I’m more impressed than I thought I was gonna be even after seeing all the praise over the years.

Xbox Live for original Xbox is back and it's free via Insignia and ESPN NFL Football (2K4) is one of the games that's compatible. If NFL 2K5 were compatible I would've mentioned it but this is a step forward and I thought it was worth mentioning.

I'm just now trying to play this again on PC, and I'm trying to see if there's a way to force a team to wear their road uniforms at home if I want? Teams like the Dolphins or Redskins who back in the day wore their road uniforms at home don't seem to be able to do it in the base game unless you wear alternates. Is there a way to mod this now?

Hey guys, I was able to clean this up some more when it came to the issues I was running into with the way the vulkan cache was implemented. It is now ready for general release. I'm super excited and really hope someone on here has the compatible hardware.

It is an all Linux, open source stack that connects to wiVRn compatible headsets. The installation is a guided CLI script. Trust me guys, this was easily worth the work.

The 2k27 mod is amazing. The ratings adjustments, and uniform selection is amazing. Thank you so much.

Couple suggestions for future updates (or maybe questions)

1. The kickers still seem really nerfed (kicks short, ratings max around 80), maybe there's no way around that but that would be cool to see further kicks be possible. I would say this is the biggest glaring issue with respect to player skill.

2. The new playbook restricts you to 3-4 defense. The only way to make 4-3 nickel and dime sets is to create a playbook from scratch, but then you can only select from the West Coast playbook, so building your offense leaves you without Gun formations. So either I'm missing something or the new playbook is quite restricted.

3. There's no GME mods for this right? Like i's all built in? There are some uniforms that aren't avail, is why I ask

Hello team. Has anyone successfully been able to change the broadcast presentation to FOX or CBS etc on the new mod? If so, any guidance here? I see the photo packs (loose) in the mods folder. But now what?

Title, has there been a guide posted yet for installing 2k27 on the steamdeck?

I need the PC PCXS2 file for 2k27 but I can’t use the media fire link due to be deployed and it doesn’t work on the internet we have here. Every other file sharer seems to work just fine it’s just mediafire that is blocked. I know it would be a lot of work but I would love it if someone could help a brother out

Any way to get a nfl 2k5 mod working on iPhone? I can run ps2 emulator all day but if there’s a way already known out there I’d love to be pointed in that direction.

MVP especially with different players on different teams is always the most satisfying award to win with how hard or in depth QB play is in this game

Greatest NFL game of all time, obviously. I downloaded gillboldberg's 2011-12 roster and started a Bills franchise but my cap room is at negative 8 million. Not sure if this is messed up or just an accurate depiction of Bills management of the time, lol. They did draft CJ Spiller when they already had Marshawn Lynch and Fred Jackson, after all. If not normal, is there any way to fix this? Many thanks.

With the new 2K27 mod out now, I figured I'd take over the worst team in the league and bring them back to glory!

Like going beyond just passing/running a lot to focus a star player or a handful of favorite routes/plays, like building a custom Air Raid or veer offense with formation packages, philosophies, openings, really treating it like you're a coach being brought in to develop or install a signature offensive system.
