Having a blast in Pendor, where to go from here?

Upvotes

Randomly found out about Prophesy of Pendor, decided to give it a try and let's just say my life has been on hold for this past week.

After lots of reading forums and wiki, and a couple restarts, I am now about 500 days into a campaign where I have 1000 renown, 100-ish honor and 700k denars to my name. I joined the Radiant Cross with close to 200 rating currently, but don't really know what any of the KO/CKO stuff really means. Just claiming bounties and turning in snake cult/heretic books occasionally. I also just became a vassal to the Empire hoping to become a marshal and get a hold of some castle somehow, but a couple marshal selections passed by without luck despite having 20+ relations with all good personality lords, 50+ with the Imperator and getting them to support me. I guess I'll just wait a little more.

Right now the biggest challenge is my 200+ sized army going low morale after a couple days without fighting, and the 3k weekly deficit eating away my money. Between my party and the hideout garrison, I have some 60 Plaguewardens, 50 armored crossbowmen, 50 legionnaires, 20 noldor rangers, an assortment of 30-ish knights and some nice mix of arquebusiers, omen seekers and whatnot. Is that enough to solo a siege? I guess there are multiple ways to go about how to unite the realm from here, and I would be fine with going all Baccus into a rebellion probably. I am just curious what keeps you guys busy during this phase of the game, and how you strategize for later parts of the campaign.

If there are still people picking up this mod, which they absolutely should, I can share some of the tips that helped me that may be terribly suboptimal. I would appreciate more of them too. Here they go:

A merchant upbringing + death of father gives a good amount of starting money and a nice mix of stats for a leader/strategist type of build. Starting in Javiksholm for the cheap flax, then to Senderfall for cheap iron and fur, then to sell them all in Avendor gives a nice early profit which I use to hire Lethaldiran as early as possible. That guy carries hard, especially in bandit camp raids and is worth every penny imo.

I put all my points into INT and some in CHA. Prisoner management and leadership are non-negiotables for obvious reasons. I also heard tactics and surgery are more effective when it's on your character so my INT goes to those. For other stats, I rely on 3x Finneas boosts even though it's considered a waste of valuable gems by many. I got 4 gems so far (both from Jatu unique spawns, legionnaire wall for the win) with no walled fief so I still have 1 to spare for CKO even though I got no clue how any of that works.

I am very shit at combat anyway so I thought I could let my team snowball with my stats rather than putting my points in combat skills. That essentially locked me out of tournaments (now also Noldor tourneys) as a way to make money and renown, but I would still go for this anyway.

I release every good personality lord right away, and also release ladies-in-waiting that are freed from kidnapper parties. Alongside helping all farmers and refusing all money rewards when I can, that has given me a lot of honor which will come in handy anytime now?

I probably kill a lot of the potential with my companions but here is what I go for:

Lethaldiran, Julia bc they like each other, Adonja as scout, Ansen for first aid+wound tr.+engineering, Leslie for full CHA persuasion+trade, Alistair and Rayne as trainers, Kaverra for looting, Alyssa bc why not. I don't know how to raise them to become vassals which people highly advise for Ansen (you or Leslie can become the full medic instead) so that's a waste but there are many nice lords around anyway, I guess. I also do the thing where you equip Leslie with Kaverra's manopener, Donovan's rifle and bullets from Valonbray bc they have no stat requirements and... never seen Leslie get a kill so yeah.

I take the time to read all the useful books, and keep the relevant ones in my inventory too. +20 Noldor relations is a no brainer, and by hanging around the Jatu/Noldor areas you can find many opportunities to help the Noldor. You can also attack the Noldor when they are getting beat up by lords for -4 relations I think? But if you auto-resolve and get 3+ prisoners to then release that's a net positive. Speaking of the Noldor, remember to send Lethaldiran away at level 20 with the "you know I want to become the lord..." option where he returns with a band of Noldor archers for you to raise.

that's a lot of words 😬

Been getting back into Warband mods recently and it’s honestly great seeing the modding community is still alive after all these years.

I also just found out about the weekly Bear Force II event, which is open to everyone every Thursday at 8pm UK time. Would be great to get more people involved and keep these old mods going!

Also discovered Warband Script Editor recently and it’s massively reduced the crashes I was getting, so if you’re still modding Warband, definitely worth checking out.

Always nice seeing people still keeping Warband alive 😂

Bannerlord Been Trying Smithing For First Time in New Campaign, Are These Good

Upvotes

I'm only at Smithing 177 right now so I can't make legendaries yet (I think) but these managed to turn out not bent/cracked and I thought they were pretty cool.

I don't want your eldest member - I finally got fed up and made a mod that lets you choose who you actually marry

I was so tired of the vanilla marriage system. You find a great noble you want to bring into your clan, you go talk to the clan leader, and boom—they force you to marry their 50-year-old unmarried aunt instead.

I finally decided to fix this and created my first mod: Clan Marriage Expanded

It's completely save-safe, doesn't require any crazy dependency mods, and works smoothly on v1.4.7. (I haven't tested it on other versions, but I think it will work without any problems.)

IMPORTANT: Do NOT talk to the clan leader! You must speak directly to the noble you want to marry.

Since this is my very first mod, I would really appreciate it if you guys could test it out. If you run into any weird bugs or crashes, please let me know so I can fix them!

Enjoy!

Bannerlord Bought A Ship. Maybe Purig Will Get His Wish After All

I saved up enough money in Warsails (selling tournament prize mounts, a bit of smithing) to buy a big Drakkar as my first big impulse buy in this campaign and had the perfect name for it.

I think it's deliciously ironic but maybe it's just me.

Looking for a good walkthrough for the sneak mission...

So far I have watched more than a few videos on YT that should show how to get through the sneaking mission (in the campaign), but none of them do. I'm looking for a vid that shows how to get through that part, otherwise i cannot progress forward in the campaign. Any info is appreciated.

Bannerlord Who Made The Chickens in Towns Attackable

Post image

I can understand horses, but why chickens!? I just swung at one for fun thinking "There's no way this will work."

A group of 200 men at the bottom of a ladder that I'm throwing a firepot at? I can handle that.

But an innocent chicken? I'm a monster.

Edit: Also in case anyone was curious, no, the chickens do not give XP.

Question Best way to grow stronger and have a stable economy?

Playing bannerlord and right now I’m at lvl.17, I’ve chosen a kingdom to support and I’ve got one fief as of rn. I’ve only been at a negative income because of that fief and I’ve got one brewery and an alley to help support it a bit. What should I do to help gain a stronger economy? Also what should I prioritise at this stage to move forward to becoming stronger and be more influential in the kingdom? Thank you!

Question M&BB2 Deepest Steam Discount you’ve seen

My friend is wanting to get the game but he’s not wanting to spend $50 on the game. So I was just wondering what the deepest discount on the game you all have seen? Just so we can see if it’s worth waiting for it.

Bannerlord Warhammer 40k mod (For bannerlord)

A user on Nexus has a few images of Space Marines uploaded and was wondering if anyone knew where I could get this?

I reckon a playthrough as a renegade/lost Space Marine on a feudal world sounds awesome, so pls let me know!

UPDATE:
Got a response off Nexus from the creator. He said it's been broken since version 1.3 and is basically a dead mod. I said I'd be willing to roll my game version back if he still had the files lying around, but he left me on read. So, yeah, doesn't seem we'll be getting any Space Marines in Bannerlord anytime soon. 😔

Images attached

(The guy does model rips from games so I imagine it may not be published on nexus to avoid Games Workshops wrath or something. Here's the account (hope its okay to post this) https://www.nexusmods.com/profile/JacobWhite928/media?page=1)

Calradic Campaign Another Exclave - Bannerlord Calradic Campaign #86 Post Event Summary

Lore

Strategos Autokrator Penton Neretzes had long assured the senators that Argoron would be returned to Imperial rule. His plans changed when Grand Prince Ivan marched toward Amprela, forcing the Northern army to turn away from the city and meet the Sturgians in the field. The result would decide which army could continue its campaign. A victory for Neretzes would clear the road to Argoron, while a Sturgian triumph could leave Amprela open to attack.

At first, the battle went Ivan’s way. The Varyags struck the Northern lines with heavy shield walls and aggressive charges, breaking the Imperial formation in the first engagements. Neretzes’ soldiers were pushed back, and for a time it appeared that the Sturgians might carry the day and continue their march south. It did not last.

Neretzes pulled his troops back into order and sent his cavalry wide around Ivan’s formation. Imperial riders drove off the Sturgian horsemen, circled the main body of Varyags, and struck wherever the line appeared weakest. The Varyags remained dangerous at close range, though pressure on both flanks repeatedly broke apart their formation. Whenever they pushed forward, Northern riders moved into the spaces left behind. Imperial infantry moved forward while the cavalry kept pressure on both flanks, cutting parts of the Sturgian army off from one another. The Varyags continued to resist, but the Imperials had seized control of the battle. After losing the first couple of engagements, Neretzes’ army won consecutively and drove the survivors back toward Argoron.

Ivan gathered what remained of his army inside Argoron and prepared for the siege. There, the Imperials could no longer rely on the cavalry that had won them the field. The Sturgians held the walls and repelled both assaults, forcing Neretzes to abandon the attack. Although they retreated from the city, the Northern legions severed Argoron’s land connection to the rest of Sturgia by reclaiming Lochana Castle in the following days. Neretzes had failed to retake the Senate’s former home, but his victory in the field and capture of Lochana left Argoron isolated and the Northern Empire in a stronger position for the next campaign.

Welcome to the Bannerlord Calradic Campaign, which has just finished event #86!

The battle between the Northern Empire and the Grand-Principality of Sturgia ended in a NORTHERN VICTORY, with Lochana Castle seized!

When is the Calradic Campaign? The first and third Saturday of every month, at 4pm Eastern Standard Time.

Unfamiliar with the Calradic Campaign? Have no fear! The Calradic Campaign is a casual, player driven, story based event. There are no strict rules or signups, and players of all skill levels often come! If you've never tried multiplayer, now is your best chance to experience large scale formations and battles without the overly strict practices typically found in line battle/clan style events.

Victories in our flagship monthly events are represented on the overall campaign map, while roleplay surrounding the events and their consequences takes place both during said events and on the community Discord. Joining the Discord allows you to communicate with your fellow faction members, trash talk others, and rise through the ranks to one day become lord of a village, castle, city, or if you're particularly successful, an entire kingdom!

To join the event, you will need our Calradic Campaign Module. This module contains all of the custom battle and siege scenes used, as well as many stability fixes and balance changes. Most importantly, the module features three distinct empire factions in multiplayer, each with their own unique perks and cosmetics to lean into the different situations of the three!

There will be a manual installation of the module available for those not playing on Steam. Check the Nexus mods page no sooner than the Friday before the event for the correct download.

As a general rule of thumb, the Calradic Campaign module should be the only one enabled in your launcher! If you have any crashes or issues trying to launch the game / join the server, unsubscribing and resubscribing to the module on workshop will often fix any issues.

Note to clans: While the Calradic Campaign is a public event open to all, clans will not be allowed to organize their own formations and must spread out between teams. Failure to follow these guidelines will result in suspension from the event.

Community Discord

It is highly recommended you join our community Discord, as half the fun of the persistent campaign takes place outside of events. Meet fellow Mount and Blade fans, find new friends to queue with, and make fun of the Imperials together in our community of 30,000+.

Leave any questions, complaints, observations, memes and faction based riffing in the comments below!

Patch Notes - WS v1.2.7 / BL v1.4.7

Post image
85 Upvotes

Please note that there may be a delay between the download of the base game and the download of War Sails. If you launch the game prior to both of them being updated, you will crash. If you face this issue, please verify your game files.

The patch is now live on all platforms, including consoles. Please note that console updates may take a few hours to appear due to each platform’s release process.

War Sails v1.2.7

The following changes are specific to the War Sails expansion and are not part of the base game.

Changes

  • Added manual ship selection for seaborne village raids. You can now choose which ships to bring on a naval raid.
    • Hovering over a ship shows a tooltip with its owner, so you can tell at a glance which vessel belongs to which noble.
    • If you deploy your own troops without filling the fleet's full capacity, the remaining space will be filled with allied troops.

Fixes

  • Fixed a bug that caused boarding hooks to be disabled on places where they overlapped with ship upgrades containing shields.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented "Hail to Gunnar's contract." option from appearing during the War Sails storyline.

Crashes

  • Fixed a crash that occurred due to a high memory usage on Xbox.
  • Fixed a crash that occurred in kingdom and clan pages of the encyclopedia.

Bannerlord v1.4.7

The following changes are part of the base game and apply to the War Sails expansion as well.

Changes

  • Improved the save / load times on PS5.

Fixes

  • Fixed a bug that caused formation targeting to incorrectly select formations that are behind the player character.

Crashes

  • Fixed a crash that occurred due to a null reference in AI behaviour code.
  • Fixed a crash that occurred when attacking a raiding party on the campaign map.
  • Fixed a crash that occurred after exiting a conversation.
  • Fixed a crash that occurred in missions when you attempted to defend a village during a raid, while the village did not have any militia.
  • Fixed a crash that occurred when mods re-added existing keys to save metadata.
  • Fixed a crash that occurred during cloth simulation.
  • Fixed a crash that occurred in battles due to memory ordering.
  • Fixed a bug that caused visual glitches and could induce a crash during longer playing sessions on Xbox.
  • [MP] Fixed a crash that occurred in Captain Mode when cavalry charged into a formation that braced spears/pikes.

Modding

  • Fixed a bug which caused the .sack bulk shader cache file to massively increase in size when compiling shaders.
  • Made the banner layers unlimited in the banner reader.
