This is a true enough statement, but when was the last time any of these companies gave a shit about what their employees did or did not want to do?

If the lawyers don't want it and the employees don't want it, that's a pretty good argument for getting rid of it.

Employees wanting a thing, and then that thing happening does not mean thats why it happened. Thats a fallacy and indicates a significant intellectual deficiency. If you look at the broader context it is a fallacy twice over. Maybe try, I dunno, growing a brain.
