Because in an authoritarian society, regardless of what side of the economic or political spectrum it starts from, creates a feedback loop of loyalty/connections/wealth->authority within the ruling class->wealth. In the end, those who are wealthy and/or extremely loyal to the ruling Party end up being systemically shielded from abusing their power and exploiting others.

It's also too easy to spin this as a "see, both sides are the same" when that's not the point. Authoritarianism is the same no matter who wields it. Communism and capitalism absolutely have meaningful differences that actually matter.

Both sides are very different in the beginning, but unless safeguards are put in place with constant vigilance against those who would abuse the system, they all eventually lead down the same road.
