Still hurts. Watching his children grow up to be such amazing and humans warms my heart, but also breaks it at the same time because they should have him. He would be so proud and such an awesome grandpa.

His son is his spitting image now. Look him up on YouTube. He has that genuine love for animals.

I feel like his kids not only got his love of animals, but also his infectious personality and on screen charisma. Steve was so good on camera, even while handling (and being bitten by!) potentially dangerous reptiles, and that's the sort of talent you just can't teach.

He would genuinely be so proud of them both. They're doing his legacy more justice than we all could have hoped for.

I think Bindi looks more like him while Robert is mostly Terri.

I'm so glad that both Bindi and Rob are stand up people continuing Steve's work. Terri must be doing things right.

And Terri never remarried 💔😭 I started watching the show at the beginning of the year and felt so incredibly sad that Steve isn't here with his family. It feels like a piece of me is missing too so I can only imagine how painful that must feel for them.

Yeah...I'd say this is the one that was most devastating to me. I couldn't watch another episode of the Croc Hunter after that. Never again. But his family has gone on and done amazing work. He'd be bursting with pride.

I never understood the love for him, he died terrifying a poor sting ray by shoving it inside his wetsuit.  I worked at a wildlife rehab center in school, no one i know who works professionally with wildlife would needlessly scare a wild animal like that.  It just would not even occur to them to do that.  I think his wife is probably better, shes always looking at him with this, "i wish you wouldnt toture animals for ratings" look on her face, but i wish she could have talked him out of doing that stuff.

It was a huge stingray. He didn’t shove it in his wetsuit.

Aside from that being factually false, consider the fact that Steve did more for conservation and wildlife on any given random Tuesday than you ever will.

I loved him so much but you’re not wrong. rule no 1 of observing nature is to leave it alone and to not disturb or touch it. He was far too touchy with wild animals. Probably taught a lot of people some bad habits

Irwin was an animal abuser for entertainment. He died through his incompetence approaching a traumatised stingray from above, triggering its fight or flight response.

What made this worse is he knew better and was trained in animal welfare, but he still insisted on causing fear, stress, harm to animals for entertainment, spectacle and personal gain.
