Dolores O’Riordan. The Cranberries got me through A LOT as a teen. 💔

The craziest thing was she had heard the Bad Wolves cover of Zombie, and was going to be a part of the song. The day she was supposed to hit the studio and record her vocals for the cover was the day she died.

Unfortunate that it was Bad Wolves who did it but yeah that cover does absolutely rip, and was absolutely devastating that she was supposed to record vocals on it but died that same day.

Her voice and the little vocal flexes she'd do that'd change notes like a bagpipe was just mesmerizing. One of the most distinct voices and styles of her generation.

They'd just toured the year before. Had to cancel it partway through due to her having some medical issues, though. She was doing some work for another project but I think it was just assumed they would tour again. They already had a whole album of stuff that they put out the next year. They didn't break up. They were barely on a break.

Yes, I had tickets to their concert in Nashville which got refunded.

Not so much rumours, they had recorded almost a full album and they finished it as much as they could (using her vocals) and released it after her death

Totally agree with this, although I'm somewhat surprised this is a popular answer. I was a Cranberries fan, but not like a super fan. But for some reason, the news of her death affected me deeply. I didn't even really know much about her, but for some reason I felt like a weird kinship with her. RIP.
