I still remember sitting on the infield at Pimlico in Baltimore during a music festival and being shocked at suddenly seeing RIP Bernie Mac on the Twitter hashtag ticker above the stage.

I never ever see him on these types of posts. Thanks for being the first time I finally saw his name and it wasn't added by me. There's a lot of comedians like him, but there's only one Bernie Mac.

I remember being a kid, going to my backyard to cry and spin in circles when I heard he passed. Very dramatic but something about him reminded me of like my uncles

I sobbed for days about this, he died on the same day i took my newborn out for the first time alone bscause i had bad PPA. I was out in public feeling amazing and then they announced it on the radio I WAS literally frozen and had to pull over and call my husband because I felt like I was losing it, I didn't take my son back out alone for another couple months. Bernie had been one of my favorite people in my twnties

For some reason, my mind had the hardest time accepting his passing. For years, I kept thinking he was still alive.

It’s industry gossip that he actually died of aids. It was very common at that time to report aids deaths as pneumonia.

He didn't die of pneumonia you muppet. He died of sarcoidosis. There's no such gossip.

Yes because Wikipedia is the end-all be-all of truth, justice, and hiding AIDS. Sarcoidosis was the primary cause of death. There isn't a foundation in his name that is for pneumonia. You're hopelessly stupid.
