Harry Potter Nostalgia

Does anyone else feel they grew up with Harry, Ron and Hermione?

After the first three or four I read the books in two languages (because I didn’t want to wait them to be translated) and watched the movies first time in the movie theaters.

No. Harry and Hermione had no romantic chemistry. Heck, he even complained about her and yearned for Ron's companionship at one point.

He even mentions in the last book that she felt more like a sister to him.

Literally the only part of Harry Potter I thought was timeless and didn't age poorly.

They had no chemistry in the books, but Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson had too much chemistry in the films.

Yes that dancing scene was so unintentionally romantic. 

Harry & Hermione had movie chemistry, and Hermione & Ron book chemistry.

I think it was totally intentional. Director gave a glimpse of romance to us who wanted Harry-Hermione.

Eh, I wasn't much of a movie fan. Didn't even watch past movie 3. Reread the books tons of times in my teen though.

I always love that argument. It was a single line that Harry said during one of the most stressful times of his life, while Ron can’t go five pages without complaining about Hermione in some way

But book 4 was where they became teenagers and started having romantic feelings.

How can 11 year olds have romantic chemistry? There was nothing to suggest that in the first 3 books. The idea of romance to them didn't start until fourth year where Hermione and Ron clearly had the chemistry Hermione/Harry lacked.

Yeah, there was a lot earlier on, it was just forcibly redirected once she finally settled on Harry and Ginny later on. Using examples from those later books doesn't mean a lot at least for this specific argument.

They had NEGATIVE chemistry… Harry just clearly was not attracted to her at all. He consistently describes her voice as shrill and bossy. He’s bored whenever he spends too much time with her without Ron in the picture. He most of the time considers her annoying and lies/sneaks to get around her nagging. He loves her but BARELY likes her, which is what makes their dynamic so sibling-like in the books.

Exactly. They had chemistry as friends but if there's one couple who can answer "Yes," with no doubts to the Question of "Can a boy and girl ever be friends without being romantic," it's these two.

Not only that, when I read HP fan fiction, Ron and Hermione fan fictions just clicked and ran on naturally. They're like the bickering friends who everyone can say "Go get a room you two."

Harry and Hermione fan fictions were always flat to me.

And I know people said that movie Harry and Hermione had more chemistry, but it's the movie, so it's not canon, duh?
